Wasn't there a deal out there on Taiyo Yudens, pretty sure they're still first class, 20 cents a disk I think at shop4tech with GCO (value bundle which means no spindle).

never realized there was classes of media. Been usin Ri-data from newegg and havent had any problems whatsoever, just saw these for cheaper and I havent had problems with the phillips cd-r.

17 cents a disk with widely available coupon code and Google checkout. I bought 200 for $34. Still valid AFAIK.

From my past experiences Philips DVD's are just junk. But YMMV depending what you are trying to do with these (Video DVDs or data) and what burner you would be using. I had horrible luck getting video DVDs to play on my home theater. Cheers.

It seems the trick sometimes is to buy media that your burner knows. Great media may run like crap if your burner doesn't know how to write to it. TYG 02 should be good (from memory). Hopefully the newer burners seem to have an adaptive learning system like my benq 1655. Hopefully those burners will have more life left in them than my old liteon or nec.
