Great Cheap DVD player, easy firmware upgrades, couldn't be happier.

This makes a great companion to my really expensive Denon DVD player that plays REAL movies perfectly, but skips during some burnt movies.

Why can't they make a play everything dvd player with a nice de-interlacing chip in it? I would be willing to throw down $500 for one.

I have been thinking about getting this one, but I am concerned about its "true" viewing quality. Yes it's versatile etc - but how well does it do DVDs? Good? Ok? Poorly? Must everyone have 2 DVD players - one for burnt stuff, and one for quality DVD watching? I saw that shootout rating a while earlier too - but honestly, it's too technical for me to appreciate

I have had this for a year, its great, teriffic dvd player. I ordered 2, for $65 each, from target. My sister uses the other one, and she watches more dvd's then I do and it is just perfect.
