Phillips Monitors?

Just wondering if anyone has anything to say about the quality of Phillips monitors. I found two at my local Staples for a nice price. The 17" "RealFlat" 107T and 19" "RealFlat" 109B. I had bought a 17" KDS AF7T (I believe), but returned it because I was very dissapointed with it. I've been shopping around for a while, and I've looked at equivalent monitors from NEC, KDS :disgust:, and ViewSonic.

I'm very happy with my Philips 107S 17" monitor. It's not a flat screen, but it's darn close.

I tend not to like flat screen monitors. To my eyes, they lack the bright colors that regular screens have. Maybe it's just the models that I've seen at Best Buy and CompUSA, but still, I tend to prefer regular old curved CRTs. Good thing, too, cause flat screens are expensive!

Anyway, I think the 107S is 179.99 at Best Buy before a 50.00 mail-in rebate, for a total of 129.99 + tax.

Well, I bought the 107T. I'm not thrilled with it. It doesn't seem to handle 1024x768@85Hz. When I try, the monitor displays "72K/89Hz frequency is out of range". I installed the INF and everything, but it still doesn't work. What's strange is that on 800x600, it works fine at the highest setting, which is 100Hz. I would think that maybe my video card is a little off, altough the KDS monitor (AV-7TF) didn't seem to have a problem with this refresh rate. Other than the refresh rate problem, it seems to be a fairly nice monitor. If I have to take this one back, it will be the second monitor to go. I'm begining to think everyone's building crap these days. :|
