Phone drops into toilet.

Just talked to a friend of mine. He was on the shitter at his new job. Has his cell phone in his sweater pocket, but somehow while doing his "paperwork" his phone manages to drop into the john. He figures he'll fish it out afterwards. He stands up but before he can attempt a "rescue dive", the auto-flush on the john kicks in and WHOOOOOSH!!! Bu-bye cellphone, contact list, stored pics, etc!

I about died laughing my ass off.

So has something similar happened to anyone else? (I've had a pager hop into the crapper before "pre-pee" so I was able to rescue it.)

My sister dropped hers in the toilet while doing her business. I thought it was funny.

I jumped in the pool with mine and it worked fine after I got a replacement battery for $11 off ebay.

No. I don't carry my phone in any pocket and just forget it's there. It's either in my bag, on my desk or in my shirt pocket beside my to-be cancerous heart.

Nope, never.

I did drop a pager in a puddle though.

But I took the battery out right away and let it dry out for a few days and it worked fine after that.

I did drop a nice pen into a toilet before. Luckily I hadn't gone yet so I dunked my hang in there and grabbed it and then washed out the pen and my hand very thoroughly.

No, but I did wash a spare battery for my Moto Q. It was totally dead when I got it out of the dryer and let it air out a few days

I 've dropped my phone in the toilet.

I was at my mom's office with my shiny 3 month old cingular 8125 pda-phone in my sweat shirt pocket. I was taking a wizz and leaned over to flush(short toilet i'm 6'4") and I had my phone in my broken pocket.
yeah, that was it for that phone.

No phone, but my 2 year old tossed a car in the pot one day, it landed perfectly on its wheels and drove itself way deeper than it would have otherwise. Up to my elbow in toilet water fishing it out...

If I'm sitting down on the toilet I always pull my pants down first to my ankles. How do people lose their phones in the toilet considering your butt is covering the entire opening?

No. If someone calls or texts me while I'm doing my business it can wait. Also, I keep it in my side pants pocket so as to avoid this.
