Phone manufacturers should go more into the removable battery route.

And I will continue to say it until a smaller phone comes out with a larger capacity.

Seriously, I love the existence of the GS4. I bet it grates that you can't cite examples.

I do wonder if this discussion would exist if the HTC One had been the one with the removable and larger battery. Or iPhone. I know my stance wouldn't have changed.

I love the existence of the GS4 too. As I said before, the more options there are, the better it is for all of us. Like I said early in this thread, it's become a non-issue for with existence of phones like the Maxx line. Now that I have something that lasts 2-3 days between charges, it really doesn't matter TO ME. You are too much though dude, you don't even understand what you're arguing about. You think I would care if the HTC one or iPhone had removable batteries? Lol.

See it's a different issue as to whether it _matters_. I agree that if a phone had MAXX-class battery life, it probably isn't as important.

But what gets me irate are the posts sayings things like "oh removable batteries aren't better because I'd rather use a battery pack" AS IF you can't use a battery pack with a removable battery.

THAT'S what's ingenuous.

I agree, anyone who says that is a moron. There are definitely trade-offs between the two though. Ultimately it matters what's important to you. That's why I'm glad there are lots of options.

Out of the two, replaceable battery is a deal breaker while no SD slot on a 128gb phone is fine.

With an external charger and a spare battery life is different. Forget "managing" your phone. I couldn't honestly tell you right now how good the battery life is on my S4 because I mindlessly flip the battery when I need to. I never manage it or check on wakelocks.

When I am playing PSX games using a dual shock and a Gameklip an external charging device simply doesn't work as the USB port is occupied by the dual shock. Those emulators eat battery, but I don't care. Flip when I am done.

Even if it does make the phone fatter at some point I will still take the option. SD slots can go the way of keyboards, but let me at the battery.

Sure, why not. Continue to dance around it using semantics.

I said little-to-no btw. Unibody is nice for creaklessness which it seems can be achieved without a unibody.

You said there was no trade multiple times in this thread...

I'm glad at least now you seem to be understanding that there are trades, they just don't matter to you. Please understand that they may matter to others and the fact that there are various good options across the spectrum is a good thing. It makes no sense to want all devices one way or another.

This is the sane conclusion that should end any further debate that isn't really headed anywhere. I don't want to see removeable batteries go away entirely even if I don't need them. It's akin to what's happening more and more often with computers, where the body construction in ultrabooks makes it harder and harder for enthusiasts to tinker with laptops, and seen also in what the new Mac Pro will soon do to Apple's pro desktop line.

I don't begrudge anyone for wanting new Acer, ASUS, HP, Apple, etc computers that are ultra thin and look great, but I also don't want to see the prebuilt market go completely disposable, either. I have no qualms about potentially buying a Macbook Air (I would love to have one) even if it means I couldn't modify it or repair it like I am accustomed to, even while having a desktop that I built part by part and overclocked and customized in almost every regard. It's only the people saying there is only one way who are idiots.

Fine. I'm good with whittling it down to "not compatible with unibody" and "not-demonstrated ability to have larger capacity in the same size".

Now I wonder if some of you will have the grace to admit that saying things like "using battery packs is an advantage of sealed battery packs" is ridiculous so we can be done with this.

Who said that? I think you got yourself all worked up for nothing. We all agree that different strokes are for different folks. Just that some think removable battery is a deal breaker and some think its not a big deal.
