Guys,
If you have any experience w/ a phone line network kit (Diamond HomeFree 10MB PCI) and the KT133A chipset, please read on.
A friend and I put together a system for him last week: IWill KK266, TBird 1.2G 266MHz, 256MB Crucial CAS2, IBM 60GXP 60G, Asus V7700 GeForce 2 DDR 32MB, Toshiba 16x DVD, Enlight 7237 w/ 300w p.s.
System went together fine, Win98SE installed w/o incident. All software, including AT&T cable modem access went in fine. Problem arises when he installs the Diamond HomeFree phone line network card in his computer. The KK266 locks up, and only when he removes the Diamond software and the card will the KK266 boot up into but Safe Mode. I've suggested he experiment w/ slot placement of the two NIC's (cable modem and Diamond phone line card), and see if that eliminates the problem.
Do you have any other suggestions? All are welcome <g>!
