Photoshop CS6 , AMD or NVIDIA

I have heard that the AMD 7970 and 7950 are better for programs that utilize open cl, open gl and gpu acceleration than kepler video cards. No game play involved , strictly looking for a high end gameing video card to excel at utilization of the gpu by programs such as photoshop. Not interested in a pro workstation card .

I might be wrong but isn't there more focus on CPU, rather than GPU, in consideration to Photoshop?

Should have the answers you're looking for.

From what I remember, the summary was that at that time, AMD cards were better software optimized but it didn't really matter which AMD card you had. An HD6570 outperformed an GTX680, for instance, but an HD7970 wasn't much faster.
