Well i started the witcher and so far so good. I do find the combat animations or at least the way in which Geralt runs with his sword over his head kind of poor, but the combat itself is pretty fun, between the timing, dodging and mixing in the magic its a bit more engaging than a lot of rpgs. The fact that your character is not a nameless mute is pretty awesome, you get a sense that your conversations may actually have an affect on the game, nice! Graphics are decent for a game this old, but I do miss the skyrim/oblivion physics, it makes this game feel a bit stiff in comparison. Its also more linear than I would like but I think it lends itself to a better story line which is an okay trade off for the open world yet disjointed story lines of games like elder scrolls and wow. Being able to loot peoples stuff right out of their homes as they watch with (as far as i can tell) absolutely no repercussions is cheesy but not a game breaker. All in all though I am enjoying it a lot thanks for the recommendations.
