Alright guys, the Ninja is in!! So far everything is running well. It is running about 2-3C cooler than my Zalman was in FANLESS mode. So I imagine if I installed a fan it would be even better. But honestly, there is no point in installing a fan since its doing just fine without it. As long as I'm getting under 55C with no fan, I'm going to leave it this way.

Anyway I will be posting some better results and numbers after I do a lil bit more testing, and of course this pictures will be coming tonight also.

Alright guys, here's the pics I been promising to show you since last week. Hope you like them.

The pics show the Scythe Ninja I have been waiting for all week, and the new CM Silent Blue fans that I ordered with the Ninja. Plus I also installed a fan in the lower compartment of the case. And I decided to put the Zalman VF700Cu onto my 7800GTX after finding out that eVGA warranties aftermarket coolers on there video cards.

Yeh thats why I recommend eVGA over BFG to people who ask what company for 7800GTXs. eVGA warranty should be the standard, and hopes other catch on. They should be all modders preferred company!

And that Ninja... DAAAMN it is huge. How's the clearance between the top and the side panel? How does it compare to your old Zalman CNPS7700?

the Ninja clears everything just fine. It's a bit tight when trying to work near the CPU area now since its so huge, but as far as clearing components of the system, everything clears well. And the performance is even better than the Zalman, and as you see I have the Ninja in fanless mode.

Then I am sold on it. I have been looking at it and notice everyone goes XP-90 recommendation happy.
How much was it? from where? And those fans as silent as their manufacturer specs say? (22dBA?)

Sorry for all the questions, it is just that so far you have pretty much parts I have been looking forward too.
Actually my rig setup is identical to your sig except I have a AMD64 X2 4400+ chosen and Antec TruePower 2.0 True Control II, and deciding between the ASUS mobo or the Jetway AT just reviewed (both I think have the most room between SLI slots)

Price was $44.99 @ SVC.com. The fans are quiet to the Coolermaster specs pretty much. The only spin at a maximum of 1250rpm, so they most certainly aren't loud. The Yate Loon's I had were slightly louder, and those are the Nexus fans with a higher rpm. The Yate Loons run at 1350rpm. The Coolermaster fans you can buy for $5.99 @ SVC.com, which is much better than paying $15 for a Nexus fan, in my opinion.

Oh and by the way, I just ordered a Antec TruePower II 550W. It should be here tomorrow. So our specs will actually look even more alike now, lol.

Wow you got it in! Very nice and it is quite tall/large lol. What are your idle temps? Is it as quiet as your old setup? Looking good

My idle temps were 37C, and load was about 51C. It's not bad for a fanless heatsink. I know the temps are higher than some other people, but its because I have high voltages to achieve the overclock I have. At stock voltage, my load was 39C in fanless mode. It's a great heatsink, and my system is even more quiet now that the loud Zalman is out of my system. (Zalman is only loud at 12v, its like 2,500rpm).

Those temps are outstanding IMO for fanless HS and your OC! I have one of those fans in my p180 (lower chamber) and love it, although I payed $7 for mine. I think CM's specs are right on. Enjoy!

Yea at first I was skeptical if the CM fan specs were going to be on point, but I realized they are after owning them now.

And yea my temps are pretty good, I can't complain. My system is rock stable too. So I am very happy.

very nice, i see how you get the cable neat for the cdroms by spacing them and pulling your psu cable from lower, to upper, back to lower for the hdd. i might have to give these method a try. although its still hard to hide the ide cable to my lower drives.but then again, i might not even touch my case because its fine the way it is.

Unfortunately I don?t think the ninja is compatible with AMD64 X2. Correct me if I?m wrong.

Why wouldn't it be? X2's are 939 processors. The Ninja supports socket 939.

Compatibility:
Intel:

Celeron (socket 478) all speeds
Pentium 4 (socket 478) all speeds
LGA775 (socket 775) all speeds
AMD:
Sempron (socket 754) all speeds
Athlon 64 (socket 754) all speeds
Athlon 64FX (socket 754) all speeds
Opteron (socket 939) all speeds
Opteron (socket 940) all speeds

Opteron (socket 939) is that same as X2?

My guess is they just haven't updated the compatibilty list. I couldn't see why it wouldn't support the X2. There is no difference other than it has two cores underneath the heatshield (or whatever that thing is called that covers the core/cores). The CPU is still the same size as a single core A64. But if you really are concerned I dunno, I'd guess you have to call Japan to speak with Scythe, or email them.

Here is a direct link to the Ninja on there site.

Very, very nice rig. The Ninja + P180 just look like they were made for each other. I can't wait for my Ninja + P180 to come in, though I wish the Lanparty layout was a bit more similar to the A8N. I do like the idea of having the memory directly in line with one of the fans. Thanks for the pics and info.

Dynamix3D..how are your HDD temps in the lower chamber with no intake fan

BTW the DFI NF4 mobos are nice as the ram sits right below the top fan and blow air directly on my ram this way....lowered overall temps too

also is the setup still Prime95 stable

My HDD temps are 32C, and no there is no intake fan, but the fan in between the power supply and the HDD helps pull hot air away from the HDD and out the case.

And yes my system is still Prime 95 stable. My CPU temps hit around 52C maximum when I am running Prime95.

Good job man! That's one of the best cable management I've seen, and that Ninja looks sexy too, and pretty effective.

thanks

Crapped I missed the lower chanmber fan...with my OCZ Powerstream because of stiff cable and PSU length it would be very hard to keep a fan their....whether it be CM or smaller Antec tricool

I love the CM fans as well..I have 2 in the rear and use the a tricool as intake fan on medium speed for my HDD but the HDD temps are few C more warmer vs my old neo2 plat and antecSX830 with 80mm panaflo l1a as intake fan

I really love this case...that HS is sweet but I do not think it would work well for me in FL...I get a load temp with my cpu and Prime95 fft of 49/50C using a XP90/Vantec stealth fan...this combo is not audible ...I think the DFI fan, ati x800xl fan and the rear fans because of the top opening create the noise...also the tricool on medium makes a little noise but becasue it is the intake fan...really not much

Remember you can also install a 120mm fan on the Ninja if you want. It is designed to work with a fan or fanless. You can install two 120mm fans if you really wanted too.
