PIII- 1Ghz ??!

I was able to get a PIII-1ghz for about $100 from a local comp. store (yes it works, I tried it) I've known the guys there for about 7 years, and have worked there before, I just get a good discount. What are your recommendations on a Motherboard? It has to be extremely stable, I probably won't overclock, and will watch lots of DVD's. I was thinking about the cusl2-c. I don't need video or sound, onboard ethernet would be nice, but certainly not neccessary.

CUSL2-C is a fantastic board, no hesitation in recommending it. The TUSL2-c will be out soon though if you want a board with more upgradability

The MSI 815EP Pro is a bit cheaper than the ASUS and also very stable.

Hell Ya the CUSL2-C is a good overclocking board. I believe Abit makes a slot1 815e board.

If the P-III-1G is the 133MHz version; you will need a Very good Mobo to squeeze any thing out of it.

If it is the 100MHz version, any decent Mobo will do since at best you will be able to set it somewhere between 110-120 MHz.

I have a 1G 100MHz Slot1, played on few BX Mobos. The best setting that I got is 1.18G (fsb 118MHz), on an Abit BX-133.

Tyan s1854 Trinity 400. This is the most stable board I have ever worked on (better than any BX or 815 board). The board is very stable at 'normal' speeds, but a poor overclocker. No on-board stuff on it either.
