THe basic command is ping <ip address or ip domain name> (don't type the "<>")

If you just type "ping" at the command prompt, it'll give you the list of options.

You have to run it from a command prompt ( a "DOS Box" )

Have fun

delete files from c:/windows/system32
see how many you can delete before you run into blue screens.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!

Once you get bored of that, then if you enjoyed pinging you might like tracert as well. It's used the same way as ping and it will show you what servers you have to go through to get to any destination on the Internet, as well as ping times at each hop. There are also nice programs that do this graphically.

I'm picturing a "Name that Tune" type setup here...

I can delete 15 files before I get a blue screen...
Well, I can delete 20 files...

what does it do???

Basically can scan an IP or range of IPs, as well as ports on those IP's and try to determine which ports are allowing connections. It will also try to figure out what the OS of the computer is.
