Alrighty, here's the deal... When I boot up into any of the Steam games based on the new engine (CS:S, HL2, HL2 Deathmatch, etc..) as soon as I get to the menu (or any point where it's not loading something), five horizontal pink bars appear that cover the screen. They are either slightly transperant or they just flash rapidly enough for you to see the menu and other things behind them. There is no lag associated with this problem, everything else, and every other game, works fine... The problem is, that if I attempt to play this game for a solid five minute, I'm going to end up on the floor in a seizure (sp?). At first, the bars were light blue, but it appears they're girl bars, and thus appreciate pink more. I've tried disabling the sound card and the DVD-RW drive, and reinstalling Steam and CS:S (oh that was fun...). I've even updated the drivers for both my vid cards and the sound card. I'm clueless, PLEASE HELP ME! So here's my rig, keep in mind the DVD-RW and the Creative Audigy 2ZS were installed directly prior to the first occurence of this problem:
AMD FX-53
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Dual Asus GeForce 6800Ultras
1 gig GeIL PC4000 RAM
DVD-ROM
DVD-RW
Creative Audigy 2ZS
Wester Digital 120 gig 7200 rpm
Seagate 160 gig 7200 rpm
Thanks everybody for their help, in advance...
EDIT: Hmmmm... I tried running it in window mode and the problem goes away, but, that really doesn't help me too much since window mode isn't exactly the fix I'm going for... Any suggestions?
