Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD Free after Rebate or make $20 Best Buy 8/24

Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD is Free AR at Best Buy starting 8/24. Currently lists for $99.99 on their site here. (They got the price changed online to $39.99).

My SIL says it's on page 26 right-hand side. $39.99 less $40 MIR. Says "Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD Everything you need to create, burn and copy cd's and dvd's". He didn't find an item number. edit for addition of item number 854750.

There is also a $20 upgrade rebate see my post below at 10 AM 8/25.

Highly unlikely don't you think? I would think it's probably the older version, that's why it's free after rebate. Then again BB has been known to screw up before...

I got the ad in the paper this morning. It's selling for $39.99 - $40 MIR = FREE. Gonna pick myself one tomorrow.

Yeah they are just clearing out the old version with this rebate. Companies actually make good money on FAR stuff because many people don't send in the rebate or don't follow the rules and submit everything so the company keeps the full purchase price.

Best Buy has been fairly good, IMO, at processing rebates. You'll only have an investment of whatever the taxes are on $40 ($3 - $4 for me) and there's the possibility that you might get a free or cheap upgrade to the newer version. For some reason the web site has not been updated to reflect the sale price.

If this is the Instant Copy then it sucks. It say it can backup YOUR DVD and movies DVD but with a little copy right protection this crappy software can't do nothing.

Let me know if someone find an option that overcome these copy protection but last time I checked it doesn't have any. Just pop up a message saying pretty much 'You must own this DVD to copy it' but then next message say 'this disk is copy righted so screw you'. Then I turn around saying to my friend "sorry, I can't let you borrow because you tense to scratch every cd/dvd you have Ur hands on and this software say 'screw you'.

Even my Nero can do copy better then this piece of ****.

No, accually I use DVD Shrink all the time and it is excelent. But I mean there are some movies I have that is under 4GB. I don't see why this software can not copy it. It say it right up front that the disk have copy right protection and only option I have is to cancel the process. Luckily I got this Instant copy for free or else I would really kill myself.

Anyway, maybe this "Instant CD/DVD" is better then that "Instant COPY". For ppl who have this "Instant CD/DVD" could you rate it comparing to DVD Shrink + Nero Express? DVD Shrink just shrink it down to less then 4GB and Nero Express just put it on DVD.

Edit: You know what, I will go to my local BB to get one and check it out myself since it's free. Can't go wrong with free.

You should install the amazing program AnyDVD. Once you do, any DVD you install in your drive will look like it has no copy protection. You can also change the apparent region code for any DVD you place in the drive.

This program should only be used to make personal backups of discs you own.

The program is available from slysoft.com. It was written by Elby, much esteemed and (in)famous for CloneCD, now CloneDVD. He sold or somehow transfered the program to a new company. Probably to avoid potential lawsuits.

There is a free download that will last 21 days.

Your Nero CD will work if it is a FULL RETAIL version. If you got it with a CD burner or a PC, nope, it's not going to work because those versions are not full retail versions.

Why don't you update the Nero? I have a Nero 5.0 CD too that got with a CD burner. I updated it on Nero website and now it have DVD options also. I look at Nero website lately and I couldn't find where they moved the update to. I might still have the update in my PC if U want it give me an IM.
