Will this do 720x480 30 fps? If not then it is really not "full motion video".

So print out this page for reference. If there is any trouble, compusa should pay us the difference. >>

[i/]

Yeh, they should, but they will not without a fight. If you did not order from CompUSA.com then the printout is irrelevant since as we been told many, many times before by CompUSA B&M employees... "the .com is independent of the B&M and neither are required to honor the others adverised specials." Even if you did purchase at the .com and have the printout, you will have to go to corporate to get your $$ if you are lucky. If you purchased at the B&M, then you are SOL since they never advertised a $50 MIR. They advertised a $20 MIR. Add that to the fact that CompUSA no longer pays rebate related refunds in-store anymore regardless of the reason. Technically you would have a legal right to the $50, but my point is how much are you willing to fight and is it really worth it over a crappy card and 4-5 months of your undivided attention to complete this deal. I did no purchase the deal so I am not going to call, but someone such verify the rebate amount on rebate program #6972. Since CompUSA has already corrected the B&M rebate forms to reflect the advertised $20 amount, it is obvious who is at fault here, but CompUSA does not fund the Pinnacle offer at New Rochelle so you are stuck between the two companies and whenever one finally decide to give if at all. Good Luck!

I don't see what the issue is...

Unless New Rochelle isn't planning on honoring their $50 rebate there should be no reason you can't go into a CrapUSA, buy the card with the $20 IR and $20 MIR and just use the $50 MIR on the site instead. On the New Rochelle rebate it clearly states you need to:

1. Buy the card from "CompUSA"..........Check
2. SKU number #288411......................Can some one verify the retail SKU is the same as the online SKU?
3. Purchased by 4/13...........................Check

The way I see it, as long as the SKUs match up, you are fine. Now whether you get the rebate at all seems to be another issue.... I'm planning to stop after work so I'll check the SKUs and repost if no one beats me to it.

I'm a little confused by your post uwannawhat, did the retail card have both a $20 IR AND a $20 MIR? Or just a $20 MIR?

Bummer anyway as they are OOS in my immediate area! I might have to take a drive later in the week if this pans out.

Yes, the shelf tag listed the final cost @ $29.99 as it's listed in the store flyer.

The shelf tag read $69.99-$20 instant rebate-$20Mfr rebate=$29.99

All rebate forms @ the front were for $50.

dimwit: Yes - up to 720x576 (PAL?) 29.97 even. As long as your system can keep up with it... You'll need a fast codec like Huffyuv or MJPEG. The quality on this card is not top notch, but good enough for things like VCD (352x240) making. Also, the Pinnacle driver is buggy, and even the btwincap driver hangs sometimes on XP.

Interesting, I'll have to make a trip out and see if this is in stock at my local cusa.

No need to drive out, the stock listing is done online. here. Just put your zip in.

I just went up to my local store (Altamonte in Florida) and picked one up. There was one more on the shelf when I left, I feel like I should have picked one up for a friend, hell a free TV tuner is awesome.

Yah did that before I posted, but those things aren't always reliable

Anyway, I've been wanting to get rid of my PCI all in wonder radeon, since I have to change primary vid card and unplug and replug the monitor in order to watch TV. Now I can watch TV without doing all that crap And I see the foos on eghey are still paying $130 or so for it, and I paid about $150 for mine, so I'm not out that much moola either when I go and sell that radeon card

Great Deal.
I picked up the last one at my local Compusa this morning.

It rang up at $49.99, and I picked up a rebate form at the "rebate center."
The form say's "$50 rebate."

I also printed out the webpage just in case........

I've had the New Rochelle center change the value of a rebate on me recently. I haven't even received it yet. I bought a Pacific Digital CDRW from Office Depot that was advertised with a $20 MIR. There was also a $30 rebate available from a previous week's offer that was still valid, so I used it. Now, according to the wheresmyrebate.com, I'm only going to get $20 despite that the rebate form I sent in said $30 on it. I haven't called them yet so maybe it'll still come through.
But, if you think the New Rochelle company won't screw you just because the rebate looks valid, think again.

D.

PS. I'm still waiting for my rebates from them that I sent in after Thanksgiving day (yes I've called and called again.)

EDIT: Eh, I've checked my documentation because I was unsure. As it turns out, there was only one rebate value that was changed by the New Rochelle people, not two like I originally stated. The Iomega rebate wasn't handled by them. (and was supposedly taken care of... it's in the mail. )

If anybody still wants one and is in Northern California Bay Area region, PM me. I reserved one at the San Rafael store, but picked one up somewhere else. I no longer want to pick up the reserved one so it's available until 5pm today.

Ok so there is a debate as to whether the $50 MIR will be honored. Well can someone tell me where I can find the $20 MIR form?
I don't think one exists unless someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

The $20 rebate is what's mentioned in the ad. The question is, is the ad in error or the rebate? Someone said they found the $20 rebates at a store rather than the $50, but I don't know if that's been confirmed yet.

They could make a case that the $20 is what's mentioned in the print ad and that's all they are going to pay. Who knows if its legal or not, question is, is it worth making a legal case out of if its not? Tell you what, we will let you file the suit in court and pay the money (which is going to be far more than the differance of the advertised rebate and what the rebate form claims, lawyers are expensive, you could end up spending hundreds or thousands on it) if they don't pay up. Deal?

Small claims court is about $15-$20...we can even include that as part of our claims...

Their website says that all stores in my area have this in stock; but when I went to one, they were all out.

The cr@pusa by me said they were out of stock, when the internet site shows them in stock

I guess the employees have 'em hidden in the back somewhere, sigh.
