It isn't very accurate. You should call them up and reserve yourself one. There has been numerous times where the webpage shows out of stock, but upon a phone call, the associate would confirm that they do have one or two in stock.

Two things about CompUSA:

1. They honor OOS (out of stock) sales, and you can PREPAY (unless otherwise mentioning limited to stock on-hand)
2. slow to send rebates.

I just went there this morning. They were out of stock. However, I asked for a raincheck and they only give the advertised price. Therefore I could get this card for $29.99 w/o any mail-in rebates WHEN it comes in. Hopefully they get some before the 13th because that means that I MAKE $20 buy getting this card! I suggest anyone who has an out-of-stock store try to get a rain check!

Wish me luck!

<< Just picked one of these babies up at CUSA in Plantation, FL. When i asked how many they had, the guy said "bring your truck, if you want." The card rang up at 69-20 instant- 49.99. They did not have any rebate forms at the store, so I am using the printout off the net. Reading about this business about getting the rebate only if you buy from COMP.com really disturbs me. The $50 rebate form is VERY clear and simply says "buy from COMPUSA." NOT compusa.com. Nowhere in the offer is "good only for purchases on COMP.com" mentioned anywhere. You BET I'll be yelling and screaming if they give me THAT baloney! >>

The rebate forms they have at the story are identical to the one you can print out from the website.

Does anyone know how to make the PCTV Vision software and PowerVCR work together. Using the Soundforge drivers disables the PCTV sw while using the Pinnacle drivers disables PowerVCR.

I just picked one up at the West Des Moines, IA CUSA.

It said $70 on the shelf but rang up $50.

They have 2 or 3 left

An older gentleman picked one up just as I did.

Anandtech member? I wonder...........................

the FM radio DOES work in XP if you have the right antenna. you can pick one up from radio shack. it's got the same coaxial connector as standard cable. the software works just fine.

because of the way the program works, i haven't been able to control winamp since the title of the program changes to include the name of the song that's playing. you'll see what i mean when you read the documentation. i use it to control windows media player, aim, tv, radio, and launch certain apps like IE and winamp.

Seeing as how everyone is jumping in on this deal, I strongly suggest you guys look at the end of this thread here. It's going to the same rebate house and there seems to be some numerous reports of people's rebates getting rejected on the basis of erroneous justification. In fact, this is the ONLY thing that's holding me back from jumping on the bandwagon too.

Hi Photon,

I configured windows media player

The key to increase volume is function key F10.

But if I configure profile.ini for a remote button to read Keyboard = F10, the sytem reads it as F1 and opens the help window.

In other words as soon as it reads FI0 it executes F1.

Please help

<< Be careful with this rebate. The online rebate form has been changed to a $20 rebate. >>

I picked up 3 rebate forms (incase of mistakes) for $50. Would they change that?

As I posted earlier and advertisd by CompoUSA the rebate is $20 and that is what you will get regardless of which rebate form that you submit for offer #6972. Your chances of getting the additional $30 are slim and none since CompUSA never advertised a $50 MIR and they have disclaimers against typographical errors in all their advertisements.

The rebate form clearly states Rebate value will not exceed purchase price There is no way to make money on the deal. The purchase price of $29.99 is irrelevant anyway since the true rebate amount for program $6972 is $20 and despite which form you mail in that is all you will get back.

Actually, they did advertise the $50 rebate at one point because the final price on the website was -$0.01. But knowing New Rochelle, they'll just send $20.

A price on a web page does not constitute an advertisement under current UCC code. If you don't like this exclusion that you can thank AL Gore as he was the one of the primary sopnsores of legislation that created this loophole for ecommerce. Anyway, officially CompUSA advertised a $20 MIR in the Sunday Insert and in their stores. This is they only legal advetisement that they are required to honor since CompUSA.com and COMPSA are two different legal entities and neither can be held accountable for the actions of the other. It is already confirmed that New Rochelle is paying $20 for offer #6972 if you want the additonal $30 then you will have to fight for it.

I just wanted to make a correction to my earlier post in this thread. The rebate form I got from the Nyack, NY CompUSA branch is for $50, not $20 as I earlier posted.

I also got the $50 printed rebate at the store, I picked up a few extra. However my store was out of the TV card itself Plus, silly compusa wouldn't pricematch the HOMM4 price of bestbuy, they tried calling them to see if it was in stock and after 15 minutes on phone hold they basically said we can't wait anymore for them so we can't pricematch.

i'm pulling up a $20 rebate online... i assume they still have $50 rebates in the stores, but the more i think about it the more uncomfortable i feel about getting the -0.01 price... like what some other ppl have said, crapusa is gonna screw us over and only give us the $20 rebate.

I don't suppose there's a way to actually get compusa to sign a binding legal contract that states they're selling the card for this price and that the rebate is 50 bucks before we actually buy it can we? Just a wild idea I thought of.
