didn't see this posted yet and thought it was a pretty good deal:

link

89.99 with $20 instant savings and $20 price break and then a $20 MIR takes price down to $29.99.

Doh

The Studio video editing software and TitleDeko title creation software included with Studio PCTV do not support Windows NT or Windows 2000

I have the non pro a while ago, it needs some sort of driver upgrade to work with i815 mobos and my friend fround it on some German site..

It work great on my bx board but this is pro version. I haven't check their site for a while, but wondering if they have w2k support now ?

This sounds like a good deal, but does anyone know how this compares to the ATI TV Wonder VE? I was going to be getting that one in a few weeks (ie, XMas ), but this one has the remote control already included. Thoughts?

--Doh! And I just bought a Logitech remote off of eBay. Oh well, if I end up with this TV tuner package, then I guess someone is getting a Logitech remote for XMas.

forcesho, what is the editing software and TitleDeko title creation software do? I am running win2k pro right now, basically I would like to watch TV on computer probably with little PVR functions. Does anyone know this card work with power vcr 3? Anyone using it as a TiVo like computer? Thanks.

Yes, this card has Win2000 support, I am currently running mine under win2000, though like said before the video editing and the Title Deko software do not work under win2000. Other then I like the card, though the one thing I do not like is that it does not diplay the channel number on the screen when you are in full screen mode.

The coolest thing I found about this card (although I never really desire using it) is the remote features. I'm assuming this one has the remote as mine did. I htink they can send you a remote if you send them some form. Anyways, the remote is controlled by an .ini file. This means you can pretty much control any applicaiton with the remote control. I had my remote set up to do common tasks in eudora and to start some programs. Interesting toy.

This is a hot deal, even if the included software bundle doesn't
work under modern operating systems, PROVIDED there is driver support
for Win2K and XP. Anything without 2K/XP driver support these days
is a dead end. You can get capture/editing software elsewhere and
$30 for the card alone is a good deal.

Pinnacle has poor support The most up to date drivers is in the Germany FTP site. As for the rebate, don't expect to get any.

The people on the Pinnacle forums for Studio PCTV Pro report multiple problems with the driver installation and function of this card with Win XP. I have this card, and I have yet to get it working in Win XP.

I have two of these cards (both PCTV pros) and they both work fine under WinXP, I have one on an XP Home machine and one on an XP PRo machine. THe secret to get these working under XP is in the installation. You have to ignore the test results that report that the card will not display a TV signal. Then after the software completes it's installation XP will report new hardware found and ask you if it should find the appropriate driver. Let XP install the drivers again and you will have TV. It has worked for me several times while installing XP.

I'm in the same boat. I want to watch TV and set my PC to automatically record specific channels at specific times. Will the PCTVpro do it? If so, then I'm grabbing it. If not, well, there's always the ATI TV Wonder VE (although that's not stereo )

Thanks!

Hahaha,
If you hook up your VCR to the cards input you might be able to get a tape tdisplay on the monitor, if you can then converting VHS tapes to VCD is possible. I have never tried it and can't vouch for the quality if it is possible.

BTW Everyone,

If you are trying to get this card to work under XP make sure you are using the 4.02 version of the Pinnacle software. Most newly bought cards will come with this version and the # can be found on the CD itself. If you have an older version you need to download the update to get it working under XP. There is no newer version that I am aware of either, mine is 4.02 and I bought mine last Christmas during the OD deal for ~$30.

Good Luck

Thanks Kef7! Great deal. The rebate link at Compusa.com is not working (at least not at this time). Can someone post a working version if possible? Here is the link to the page again: LINK

Thanks!

Can I use this card to convert VHS to VCD?

Yup. I'm not familiar with that software package, but you can do it with this freeware package: vcdhelp.com

ASUS A7A (Ali Magik Chipset) users should read this forum post LINK. I'm not sure if its the right link, but do a search for a7a and you'll find it. There seems to be some compatibility issues with a7a mobo.

I was thinking of picking one up today, but I might need to do some research first. Anyone using the card on a a7a mobo and Geforce3?
