Pinnacle Studios 9 DVD size is 4.50G

I am trying to create a DVD using Pinnacle Studio 9 and I have about 1 hour and 40 minutes of tape. When I create the DVD it is saying that it is using 73% quality to fit onto DVD but then after it creates the DVD the files seem to be 4.5GB which is to big for a DVD.

Has anyone else seen this?

Have you tried looking under the options or preferences and see if the size can be changed to 4480mb (the approximate max size for -R/+R media)?

I've never used PS9, so that's just a rough guess.

Have you tried burning the file it creates?
I think there are error bits which may not be used (on CD's at least) which allows more data to fit (with audio on CD's), whereas if you are putting files on the disc, it has to use the error bits to which reducess the available space, or something.
I might be off base though.

Would seem odd for it to create a file that will not fit though, so it might fit somehow?

I did look around and could not find a setting for anything having to do with the size of the DVD. I can only select the DVD format which I will be using. I have done this by selecting DVD - R/RW.

I thought the same thing and I did try burning it using PS9 and it failed which is why I am trying to figure out the file size thing so that I could try and burn using Nero.

I don't understand your problem. Why don't you just burn the DVD using PS9?

PS9 is failing to burn the DVD for me. So I was going to use Nero to burn the DVD and then Inoticed that the video-ts directory that was created from PS9 is 4.5GB which will not fit on a DVD. I was wondering if anyone new what the reason was for PS9 making the directory to large to fit on a DVD
