I just got a Digital Research 10X DVD Drive with OEM Pioneer 10X DVD / 40X CDROM IDE drive (model DVD-114) inside for $29.88. This package also includes Power DVD software.

Check your local Office Depot. They are clearance this item since August this year. I am just happening to get the last one they hide away.

FYI: I got this from Framingham, MA store. Just want to save you a trip.

I called 3 Office Depots in the Beaverton, Oregon area. All 3 said the item was discontinued and clearanced out. There are none in their delivery center for this area. One Office Depot said the item hasn't been available for a long time. It doesn't even show up in their inventory history!

The website indicated SKU 272891 isn't a valid number, and a search of computer related items was unable to find a DVD ROM.

I guess we missed out.

they had labtec speakers/others for supposedly 50% off--it's really the price out on the net... thought i had a hot deal on cambridge FPS 1000 for $39.88 but it's $44.99 on ibuyer.net

edit one more time: acid dj 2.0 also $4.88 --i need to add that some of these came up as $29.99, etc. but they had been selected for clearance--hence their placement on the shelf, the cashier at the front bawled dude out for placing them on the shelf but not correcting the price in the system.

None of the 3 stores in my area had one. Well, one of them said he had one that was defective, I was like yeah right... He wouldn't sell it to me anyways.

No, there is no digital output (if you are talking about audio). Check the picture (label) and it will shows the rear view of the drive.
