For help try the Pioneer fourm at cdfreaks.com LINKOriginally posted by: GtPrOjEcTX
so what times do you guys get with these?
when I burn an 8X DVD+R at 12X, it takes about 6:57. But the buffer always dips down to 0% about half way through, then restarts and burns a bit quicker. Anyone else having this happen?

This is normal. From what I have been reading, even when you burn at 12X or 16X, it doesn't burn at that speed through the whole disc. I have read that it only ramps up to 12x speed after the 4gig mark on a single layer disk. What you are seeing it entirely normal and I have witnessed it myself. FYI I am using BETA 4 of >Nil's hacked firmware, using 8X Ritech DVD+R media.
without modified bios (I didn't try) max was 4x for my tries.Originally posted by: Freejack2
Well finally bit and ordered one, anyone know what the max burn speed is for 4x Ritek G02 media?
