**WARNING** these do not come with a receiver/amp. you can not plug them directly into your computer even if it has 5.1 soundcard.


even for none audiophiles if you plan to use these with a PC i recommend going with creative or logitech 5.1s in the same price class. setup will be much simpler with speakers designed specifically for PC. these speakers look really low end for the Home Theatre as well, you would have to be on an extremely tight budget and have an A/V receiver/amp to make these worth while.

too bad it isn't eligible for free shipping. Doesn't seem like a bad set of speakers, considering it's almost half off. Anyone own these? Is Pioneer SFCRW240LS > Logitech 5300-e??

I'm not sure, but remember you'll have to add a receiver in the $150 to $200 range to get a 5.1 channel input on it so you can hook it up to your computer for surround sound.

It would be more fair to compare these to Logitech z-5500s or Klipsch Promedia for the final price. Are they better? Probably not.

My brother has these and he swears by them(or however that saying goes...) I am not sure what amp he uses though, but they do sound pretty good. I am definitely not an audiophile, but my bro thinks these are pretty awesome(I guess he wouldn't be classified as an audiophile either though).
