hmm, i don't quite understand what you're saying.. my fish are caribe, which have red bellies and a black spot on each side behind their head... the type of fish that is considered yellow-bellied is called a piraya
any particular discussion you're referring to?

can I ask you how you clean that tank?
Do you have to enclose them on one side or something?
Or do you use equipment to do it without sticking in your
hand?
just curious....I've kept fish for many years but never piranha..illegal here.
i use the python hose thing that attaches to a sink faucet...
i stick my hand in the tank, no biggie.. .they go off to the opposite corner of the tank while i clean it out i think it's cuase they've gotten used to me going in there w/ the big vac every couple of days

brave....very brave! Wouldn't you make sure you had fed them first?
I mean, they are indeed piranhas and their instinct is to attack anything pretty much right?
They could be used to you going in there with the vac, but what if....just what if ?

Don't take it the wrong way but you guys must have some serious psych problems to actually "enjoy" this stuff and watch some suffering. That is a typical trait of serial killers and psychopaths actually
Don't claim that it is natural, either. In nature, this fish wouldn't be confined to an area with no chance at survival. Why not kill it quickly and drop it in for them to eat? They wouldn't know the difference.
But hey, it made you and the other 12 year olds bust a nut so its all good ....
