Pissed At BitTorrent

When you guys say you can load azureus up and play farcry or other CPU/GPU-intensive 3d game, are you only using it to download a few megs here or there? When I say Azureus uses alot of resources, i'm talking 300-800mb of ram used with "number of simultaneous downloads" set to about 40, an average download/upload speed of 150/50 KBps, and mostly multi-gigabyte sized files. If someone can play farcry at 50fps with all that running on a 3200+/1gb PC3200/R9600, i need to know what i'm doing wrong.

im using Bit-tornado to dl my things, and its going so slow... its only downloading 10-20kbs..... my friends would download up to 100kbs... anyone know whats the deal?? is it because of my router?

You all frickin' suck at this System Resources thing. I download + seed several multi-GB files at once with Azureus on a Celeron 500/384, controlled via RDP. Just as responsive while downloading as when it's not, and it also handles my in-house PBX over USB.

Azureus actually behaves quite nicely with you have JRE 1.5 installed.

Bingo.

I was having major issues with it, but if you have the latest Java installed, all should be well.

That being said, i still run my downloads/uploads on my old machine so i can still play games & stuff more easily on my ny newer one,

Would an Intel Hyperthreading system run the Torrent apps better in the background compared to the AMD or is it optimized for neither of them?

That aside, Azureus seems to run fine on my PIII 800 Mhz even running all night (It does use 99% of my RAM on occasions, but not often)
