Why are you defending a player that got a season suspension is the big question? Let me guess, you "slang rocks on da block wit him" and he sold you a "gat". lmao

Because he didn't deserve a season suspension. The guy reacted how anyone would react. You writing what you did shows your ignorance towards both how life actually works and what the fvck happened.
So how did Carl "Crazy" Everett control himself when he was hit by a CELL PHONE hit him in the head?. Fact is, this happens all the time with beer, food, juice, spit, and CELL PHONES. The fact that you don't know this is proof you have never been to a sporting event... the more you open your mouth the more you expose yorself as a troll.

You're a moron, you really are. Not only do I play sports, but I'm an avid NBA and MLB fan, and regularly attend games for both sports. Everett wasn't in the middle of being pushed around after a foul not to mention a rivalry game. Saying stuff is always thrown during games is also stupid, because you know that's not true either. If stuff was always thrown security would be much more than it is.
I've seen player get sprayed with beer 3 or more times in college football, football, and the NBA. MLB it's usually just taunting, and your occasional stuff thrown on the field (however the NY Yankee fans threw all types of sht on the field during the ALCS when Gayrod slapped). But I'm the moron right? Keep opening your mouth little troll. Out of the 100's upon 100's of rivalries in the NBA never has this happened before. And if you think this is the first time a player has been hit with a beer at a rivalry game, then you have your head up your rectum.

I never said it was the first time, I said it doesn't happen all the time. It's funny, you keep bringing up me being a troll and how I don't know about sports and you keep trying to bring up your knowledge of baseball; it makes one wonder, are you insecure about something other than your abnormally small penis? Yankees fans always act like crybabies when stuff goes against them, just like Lakers fans. Point is that Artest reacted like any human being in such a moment would, and saying that other people wouldn't have reacted the same way is a straight-up lie.
Nice personal insults. Your age is showing. The fact that YOU would have done what Artest did shows that you are too immature to coexist in our society. A shame that one day I will be supporting you in prison one day. Well at least I'm not supporting Artest (yet).

The NBA has a rule, if there is an altercation on the court, players on the bench must remain on the bench. Reggie Miller was suspended because he left the bench in the first scuffle before Artest went into the stands. Billups, Coleman, and Campbell of the Pistons were also suspended one game.

EDIT: Even though Reggie Miller was an inactive player, he is still a player.

And for those of you that say they lost respect for David Stern need to understand that he has a job to make the most money for the NBA. It's still a business and he needs to restore the trust that some fans lost in the NBA by making an example of Artest. He is just doing his job.

You calling me a troll is not considered a personal insult? Your age is showing in your hypocrisy and double standards. I'm willing to go out on a limb and say you're a republican or at least conservative too. The fact that not only me but also millions upon millions of others would have done the same thing as him shows that we're honest with ourselves. Would you feel safe with your family courtside with Artest on the bench in front of you? Next.

Yeah, while it is a business, how much money do you really think they will lose from this? All the publicity that is spawning from it? I bet a bunch of thugs will want Big Ben and Artest jerseys just from seeing it on the news. When school resumes Monday I bet I see 3 people wearing Artest jerseys that don't even like basketball. Point is, he was trying to make an example, and he made too much of one.

I agree the NBA will profit off this publicity, Stern still needs to send a message to players to make sure this doesn't happen again. This will cost Artest a possible championship and about 5.5 million dollars. That will make any player think twice about entering the stands.

Funny that you're still a slobbering schoolboy and I'm a grown man. I knew I was arguing with a zit faced teenager. When you have your own place, your own job, and kids then talk sht. Otherwise I'm frankly glad that you're not a part of society yet, you still have time to mature. Now get out of the computer lab and get back to your dorm room and study. Mommy and daddy aren't paying 25 G's a year for you to be up at all hours of the night when you have class. I'm done with you, have fun.

I'm a sophomore in high school, and yet I got the best of a grown man? Calling me zit-faced and mocking me with your kisses just goes to show that in the end you had nothing that you could base your argument on. Go on and feel good about yourself, thinking you won an argument with someone decades younger than you, but if anyone read this they'd laugh at you for getting so into it then ending it like this.

Someone in another RA thread talked about how Vernon Maxwell only got 10 games for his altercation in the 90s. I think that this is way too steep of a punishment and that Stern isn't being fair. There goes the NBA season next year though, I bet anything there will be a lockout now.

LoL kb. Men don't throw beer, they drink it! Speaking of which, I was at a Raven's game about a month ago when this zit faced college tool (he was probably aplefka's age come to think about it) felt the need to spray beer on my row, including my dad, after the opposing team (whom he was a fan of) scored. I let it go once, then it happened twice. I turned around and gave him a nice verbal lashing, and told him that we paid good fcking $$$ for these seats, and do I make myself clear? He promptly apologized, and was pretty scared. Otherwise, I would have gotten the usher and had him removed. Didn't hear a peep from him the rest of the game. Hear that Artest? You could take a lesson or two.

I thought you were done, yet you keep on insulting me. Yet I'm the immature zit-faced one who throws around personal insults, right? Adults like you make me worry about where we're headed in the years to come. I bet you felt cool when you turned around and yelled at the kid. Do you want a cookie?

Keep talking about how you're a real man, it'll keep your self-confidence falsely high.

It's the only incident that is somewhat comparable to this one. I think that Artest should've been given 30 games at the most. It's just ridiculous that he got this much of a suspension, but we already wasted pages 28-30 on our views.

nba really needs to do what they do in europe when the crowd acts like they did here during soccer matches (less worse, its mostly verbal (racial) taunts), play the soccer matches behind closed doors, the dumb@ss detroit fans deserve the same, 10 closed door nba matches should serve them good

i am not against the players getting banned, but the crowd cant get away without anything

yes, i agree. i was about to say the same thing.

but never in a million years this would happen, because the NBA is all about the money:

players that got fined: money
players suspended without pay: money

and guess what, fans = money, so no matter how crazy the fans get they're not going to get punished like that because it means less money.

People who think these suspensions are fair are nuts. Lets put it into perspective.

Bring the fans seating area down to the playing field in the nfl - put them within a few feet of the sidelines directly behind the players.

A game with only assault charges would probably be a good day, while murder charges would probably become the norm.

What happened in Detroit is less of an issue with any particular player, but a problem with the nba's practice of putting $$ before the well-being of both the fans and players.

Yup, we pay their salaries. Stern isn't stupid to condone/allow these monkeys to bite the hand that feeds them.
