How would you have acted if you seen at least three athletes beating up random people they *thought* did them wrong, or got in their way? Should they have been blowing the team kisses as they left? Then another fan throws a drink in Artest's face as Artest beats the crap out of the kid he thought threw the drink. And another Pacer starts beating the crap out of the other fan. And O'Neil absolutely sucker punches a guy who was already being restrained. The guy had no way of knowing he was about to get drilled in the jaw by this pro athlete.

I'm sorry if I don't share you conclusion. I would of been throwing stuff on the Pacer team as well.

And Artest has been called to the carpet quite often over the last few weeks flown into meetings with the NBA with threats of dropping him.

He has a guaranteed conract. They can't do anything (at least before this fight) without the players union on them like a dog.

Heck, when Vin Baker broke the rules of his agreement with the Celtics and lapsed back into drinking (he is/was an alcoholic), they still had to agree to pay a good portion of his contract as a buy out (they couldn't just cut him).

Well, I don't know anything about it.. I just know that the company I mention is the company that provides all the transportation for them to get from IN to these meetings... and they are always talking in the car.... He has been pulled up into the carpet quite frequently ... I don't know about contracts...sorry.

Ben Wallace should be suspended for being a crybaby, Stephen Jackson should be suspended even longer for being a thug. About Artest, I'm not sure. It was an unnecessary foul, but I've been fouled harder, and I wish Wallace had sucked it up, but I guess Artest should get whatever penalty that comes with the most severe flagrant foul. It's too bad that these "fans" can't be put into a small room with the players to go one-on-one.

I have to side with the players when they react to people throwing stuff at them, assuming that they're going after the right guy(it's very likely that they're going after the wrong guy, however). It's like at the bars. You talk smack to/pour stuff on another man, you're on your own.

How can you say Stephen Jackson deserves to be suspended for being a thug but Artest should only be suspended for his foul? Artest was the one who ran into the stands and tried to beat up a fan.

And I agree that you get what is coming to you if you act like some of the fans at the game did tonight. That being said, you don't walk away scott-free from an incident like this. If you get in a fight at a bar and the cops bust you, you are headed to jail. Why is this any different?
