Pistons Vs. Pacers

the fans that pours beer and threw stuff at the pacers as they were leaving the court was pretty scummy too. they got that on camera (i saw it on tv)... wonder if there is anything they can do about that. kinda reminds me of the snowball incident at giants stadium a few years back. some guy was caught in a pic that graced the back cover of the new york daily news throwing a snowball... did they prosecute that guy?

Holy crap.

First of all, I can not believe the guys on ESPN are COMPLETELY blaming the fans for this. OK, they shouldn't have thrown a beer (or whatever) on Artest, but you can't CLIMB INTO THE STANDS AND THROW PUNCHES AT FANS! If you go into the crowd and try and fight someone, you deserve everything you get.

And Stephen Jackson was just LOOKING for a fight. He pulled his jersey up and bowed up to the Pistons before climbing into the stands and dropping bombs.

I think Artest and Jackson should be suspended for a LONG time for rushing the stands and throwing punches no matter how emotionally charged you are.

1. Ben Wallace suspended for the push.
2. The fans are prosecuted, banned, and fined.
3. Detroit be severly fined for their fans.

Man lucky my tivo was running on ESPN upstairs. Just checked out the whole incident. Ben Wallace way overreacted but all was about to end on the court, like it should have, until some idiot fan decides to throw a cup at Artest. I seriously hope they can catch some of these fans and ban them from the arena. Wallace and Jackson will definitely be fined and suspended, maybe Artest for going into the stands. And can you believe the two biggest nutjobs, Artest and Rasheed Wallace were trying to stay calm?

jim gray was standing a few feet from artest... he confirmed someone launched beer at him at point blank range.

#1 - The Pistons aren't going to move

#2 - Piston fans are generally great fans. A few idiots got out of hand tonight.

#3 - How can you NOT suspend a guy for CLIMBING INTO THE STANDS AND THROWING PUNCHES? He is a professional athlete.

Jackson is defintely going to get suspended. He was the worst of them all. He was just piling on up in the stands. As for Wallace, he might get suspended for the push of Artest but I have seen NBA players get away with a LOT worse than what he did.

I do have to agree that it was in bad taste to react the way the fans did after the melee. But you can't tell me that ANY city's fans wouldn't have reacted in exactly the same way if players from the opposing team came into the stands and started fighting with the fans.

It was horrible watching the Pacers players trying to get off the court and fans on camera were throwing sh|t at them from point blank range. I don't care who you are, make millions of dollars, or whatever, that's going to piss you off
