unfortunately for detroit, this year, they are the STD capital add that to the fattest city in America. and here's another interesting quote from that article: In September, Rick Reilly of Sports Illustrated called Detroiters a bunch of heat-packing rowdies who "warm their hands around cop car fires." i'm sure we'll get more elaborate lables now.. *sigh*Originally posted by: Coquito

Yeah, I think the least I would've done was to throw the cup back at them...
Edit:
LOL, I check nba.com and there's NOTHING about this! bwahah Well, obviously there wouldn't be..
Also note that the fan he went after wasn't even the guy that threw the cup.Originally posted by: kb315
Ben Wallace was a much bigger threat to Ron's security than the guy who threw the beer. Ron only went after the fan because he know he can't go face to face with Wallace cause he knows he'll get his ass kicked. Then he jumps into the crowd and attacks some scrawny white boy.

Ben Wallace is responsible for everything escalating. He wouldn't let it go and got all the fans riled up as a result. They guy has a couple screws loose.
Takes real guts to stand up to a guy half your size, who wasn't even the guy that threw the cup. Had Artest not run up into the stands like that, the person who threw that cup would have been dealt with accordingly.Originally posted by: Tylanner
If Artest hadn't defended himself, more drunken fans would have followed suit and threw their beverage. Artest is a "stand up" guy.

I was damn glad to see every single sorry Detroit fan get his ass beat when they went up toe-to-toe with a Pacer player. Every single one got their ass handed to them. I find myself watching the Stephen Jackson clothesline punch and the Jermaine Oneal sliding hook over and over again. Classic.
as if they wanna do that. they make too much money off the beer.Originally posted by: Shame
Solution: Stop serving beer at Piston's games. Sadly, they cannot handle their alcohol.

this was brought up once and ignored
How is this different then the Milton Bradly incident at the end of the baseball season
a fan threw a bottle of beer at milton, he walked over to the stands and demanded to know who through it...then he through the bottle in disgust at an EMPTY seat in the stands
EVERYONE thought Milton overreacted and he got suspended for a couple games.
how can people say that was his fault, but that Artest didnt overreact and was just defending himself?
in no way was this self defence
