Suspension Time Rumor

The exact length of the four players' bans could be announced as early as Sunday.

However, Ben Maller and Chris Landry of Fox Sports Radio have learned from Pistons play-by-play man Fred McLeod that the NBA plans to suspend Artest for 30 games.

Additionally, O'Neal and Jackson will both get 20-game suspensions. Wallace, on the other hand, will miss just five games.

Just five. The thing is what Ben actually did was not that unusual. A 5 game suspension is actually somewhat long given Ben didn't throw any punches or anything.

The things is that Ben Wallace DIDN'T start attacking fans on or off the court. Attacking the fans and going into the stands are absolute no nos from the NBA's perspective. From a NBA business perspective, they don't want ticket payers worrying about being attacked by a player in a case of mistaken identity or just hit in the crossfire. Going into the stands also broke the invisible line between players and fans, and nearly started a full riot. That's why the suspensions primarily targetted those 3 Pacer players.

While I'm not letting the fan who actually threw the liquid off the hook, the fans didn't really go crazy until Artest went into the stands and started attacking someone who he though MIGHT have thrown the cup. That was amazingly bad judgement anyway you consider it.

Let's change that to retarted fat fans who thought they were all big. There were two as far as I saw, and they wanted Artest... he and O'Neal apparently had other, far more pleasing ideas.

The guy Artest attacked WAS NOT the guy who threw it and the guy he attacked and witnesses surrounding the attack claim Artest was yelling "was it you?"
