Who would win in a fight? I think if I could poke it in the eye before it locks it's jaws on me, I can then sink in a rear naked canine choke

You do know you are talking about a breed that comes from a line developed for taking down two thousand pound bulls?

Does the guy have access to weapons, or objects that can be used as a weapon? If no, well, average joe is in trouble.

I put my money on human... horribly disfigured human who has lost a f hand, a few fingers on the other hand, an ear/eye/nose, and probably die of sepsis a month later.

I agree with this. Human might live but he aint gonna be pretty.

uh, don't search "pitbull attack" in google images search for example pictures.

It's a joke. I doubt these things are even functional / practical.

If you're going to have a blade on you expecting it to save you from a pitbull attack be prepared to be injured severely on your off arm while you stab the pitbull several times in the throat to get it to consider stopping its attack on you.... if you're lucky.

imo, a firearm would be a better thing to have, if you're attack by one of these "maligned breeds"

my brother-in-law honestly thinks he can take on a mountain lion bare-handed. Since he has a few pounds on a cat that weighs almost as much as him and can leap 10 feet in the air and is mad-crazy with bloodlust.

So far, I believe that I've heard of someone killing a pitbull attacking another dog by using a hammer and screwdriver. Pretty good for $10 or less...

I wonder what a pit bull would do if you stabbed in in the back 2-3 times with a screw driver.
Would it yelp and run away, or would it turn on you and jack you up?

That pitbull was attacking and distracted by another dog.... if the pitbull was attacking person with the hammer and screwdriver I don't doubt that he could stop the pitbull with those tools but I seriously doubt he'd get out unscathed.

If he's an ass to your sister take that bet and challenge him to jump into a lion pit in a zoo...

"Winning the encounter" does not equal "getting out of it unscathed".

Well, he is a flaming idiot. If he weighed 350 and was an NFL lineman, the cat would still be feasting on his carcass if they fought.

Cat is considerably stronger, pound for pound.

That's beside the point.

The hypothetical situation, imho, was a 1 vs 1 encounter presented by the OP... the person I replied to gave an example of a 2 vs 1 encounter...

I still think that, in a 1 vs 1 scenario, unless the person has a firearm or is well trained with melee weapon fighting he will get injured fighting a pitbull

No He's not. He can't add a poll to a thread he didn't create.

The whole point of the other thread was if the pit bull was a trusted pet and attacked you out of nowhere, like it was just laying next to you on the couch and you had no idea it was going to do that.

It wasn't about if you could take a pit bull out if you expected it.

My 6' 3" uncle fresh out of the Army was attacked by his in-laws German Shepard when he came over to their house one evening. Out of reflex his killed it. Amazing what throwing one's weight down with a knee the rib cage will do. Didn't go over too well with his soon to be ex-wife's parents though.
