I honestly struggle with this thought.

Part of me knows I am larger, stronger and smarter... so I should be able to put a death grip on his throat or eyes.
I like to think that my own survival instinct would kick in and I could subdue the animal.

Another part knows they have evolved thick necks and rugged faces and there is nothing I could do to stop a latched jaw.

That YouTube link of the pit bull attacks was eye opening.
They pretty much won't stop no matter what you do.

There was a thread a few years back about some ATOT member saving a small girl from a pitbull attack and tossing the dog back into a closed area. Like someone above said, in a surprise attack the dog has a pretty good chance, but if you see it coming I think most humans could fend off the dog.

Less to do with whether the bro even lifts and more to do with whether the bro is able to go for the kill from the green light. Any average male could probably take down a pitbull if they have the attack mindset and see the dog coming. The problem is when trying to fend it off and run away, bro will lose. Aggression is what makes a pitbull dangerous. If bro can match that aggression and block out some pain then bro can take down a pitbull.

I think that some of sofa nerd set at ATOT have failed to properly interact with different species of dogs.

I've handled dogs of all breeds and sizes and have a very good feel for the power of each. I have a strong knowledge of breeds. My family has owned bull pure breeds...not Pitts, of course.

Bull type of dogs are extremely strong. Their weight means nothing. Just like a Chimp has the power to tear man's arm off. A Pitt bull with all that neck strength & clamp bite pressure can crush through bone. The nerve in its face has been multi-generationally bred down, as well as it's tunnel vision RELENTLESS attack.

All you have to do is look at Youtube videos to see this animal and respect its visciousness. It has been bred to fight and kill. This is basically a shark with a collar on it and you never know when those kill genes are activated in its little brain.

It won't care if you poke it's eye out (good luck with that, btw as its shaking your hand off and clamping down even harder as you almost pass out from the pain from shock). Pitts keep going. It smells your blood and will be relentless in attack.

The neck power and bite pressure are something else to behold.

I'm 6'4" and lift weights and fight train and I certainly don't want to fuck around with certain breeds. They have my utmost respect!

(...I once had police protection equipment vs a police trained German sherpherd going at my arm. It hurt like a mofo! I cannot possibly imagine how that would feel without protection on!)

If you fall to the ground you're in trouble

If it gets its teeth into your inner thighs, groin, or neck then you're fucked.
