People down the street from us used to have a Pit Bul that chased and caught cars.
Dumb thing would run out and bite the tire . . . and hold on.
Clink . . clunk . . clunk.
Never did it get killed, but it's head looked like ground round a lot of the time.
They played catch with it using croquet balls, it actually ate them.
Never seen a porcupine in the wild before hun? They pretty much waddle away when they see you. The biggest "attack" they do is turn ass end to yea.How do you guys know the porcupine didn't go after the dog?

yes, it's chopped.
Highly likely that the porcupine walked way scratch free, because it require the dog to flip the porcupine to attack the soft under belly with no quilts. And, dogs are too stupid to figure out that strategy.Originally posted by: HonkeyDonk

:Qdang, to have that many spines in his face, he woulda had to do some major damage to that porky pine
you'd think that woudln't you...but in reality, the porcupine probably only got minor injuries.

shoulda seen it, we killed one once with a .223 when we were in PA (they kill trees, and we were on tree farm land) about 100 yards away. when the bullet hit the thing you just saw about 1/2 of the quills on the porcupine go flying in all directions. and he still had tons left in him. but he didnt fall off the branch, so we shot him twice more.
Nope, there are much more spines on a porcupine if that dog decided to come back for second. And, the spines have lots of bacterias to continuing the damage long after the fight.Originally posted by: dugweb

So what made the quills come "flying" out? Despite popular belief, porcupines do not "shoot" quills.
