Not sure how true this story is. Some people have been swearing by it, others are saying it's all crap.

I'd slightly rather have Mizzou, but Pitt is a good 2nd choice.

Eh. I was hoping Notre Dame would finally suck it up and join the Big 10. I'm indifferent on Pitt. I felt like Penn State was already a ways over there...didn't really want to add another school that far away from the rest of us.

Yeah, shoulda been Notre Dame, but they've got way too cushy of a TV/BCS deal to join a conference.

It's either 12 or 14.

A whole mess of schools have been mentioned, including Missouri, Pittsburgh, Texas (some people took the "we're looking all over the country" statement a bit too literally), Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Rutgers, Iowa State, Cincinnati, Louisville, and West Virginia. That's in my order of teams that would fit in the Big Ten, to me

Mizzou and Pitt are really the only two schools that fit the profile in all three aspects.

I assume in everything, but football would be the driving force behind the move. CCGs in football are big moneymakers.

You shouldnt be allowed to play in any BCS game without winning one. Its basically a playoff game.

Yeh right. Das Fuher of the Big 10 knows he has a sweet gig going with no championship game. Now he doesn't have to worry about having an Alabama vs. Florida game at the end of the season to knock one further down the big game chart. He doesn't want somebody knocking Penn State/Ohio State/Iowa/ect out of a contention spot like Oklahoma has had happen before or Texas nearly had happen.

I dunno, I think the desire to make more money off another game might outweigh that. Besides, the CCG would be PSU/OSU/Iowa/Mich when they get back.. so it's not like one of those teams wouldn't be making a showing in a BCS game. It'd be pretty hard to add Pitt and then not add a CCG.

I was thinking Pitt, WVU, or Mizzou would join. Boise State should really be petitioning to join though -- even though its pretty far away. They would really gain a lot.
