I just wondered when you use them? Watching movies?Front stereo speakers make a big difference to me at least. The ones on the Nexus 6 were nice and loud and the ones on the 6p are ok but not as good. Only time I wear headphones is at the gym and at work.
The HTC m7 had really nice front stereo speakers. It's not so much that they are stereo output but the placement in the front has better sound projection.
Yea videos, news, YouTube, haystack. Sometimes I'm not near my TV and want to look something up. It's like one of those things once you start using it you just get used to that experience. Not mandatory but definitely nice.I just wondered when you use them? Watching movies?
I'm not so naive to think that I'm getting stereo separation. What I am getting is two speakers actually aimed at me while I'm watching something, and not aimed away from me or lateral to me. That makes a huge difference in how we perceive the sound. This is something that's never excited me. What's the usage where stereo speakers is better than headphones or Bluetooth? Are speakers on each end of a phone far enough apart to even give the listener stereo separation?
Like the Nexus 6? This won't be the first phone to pull off narrow bezels and dual front speakers. It is still a rumor at this point, so I'm just going to wait and see.How will they do minimal bezels and stereo speakers? If they can do both that would be really nice.

I think that link is broken. I'm not sure why they are putting in music recognition software. Says it's always running in the background and will display whatever song it detects on the lockscreen. I hope that's something that can be turned off.http://www.androidauthority.com/google-pixel-2-xl-specs-803169/

It's also a hassle to have pull headphones out and put them away when you're done if all I want to do is watch a video while I eat my lunch in my office. Or show a video to my wife or to a friend. Or watch a video with someone, period.I'd rather use headphones in that situation, it's more immersive and you do get much better sound!

I don't dump on your preferences or use cases, some reciprocation would be appreciated.
And besides, you only get "better" sound if you take the time to carry an amp/external DAC with you.
I think you're trying too hard, then. I also think I didn't go after you personally when you were trying to present Touchwiz features that stock Android phones "couldn't" do.While your first two points are valid, I'm really struggling with the 3rd. Are you trying to say that those piddly ass build in speakers on the phone are just as good as headphones, and the only way you would get better sound is with an amp? I'm either missing your point, or you need to buy headphones somewhere other than the gas station.
How many are you planning on ordering, because I'm going to push my luck trying to order 2 XL's.I think you're trying too hard, then. I also think I didn't go after you personally when you were trying to present Touchwiz features that stock Android phones "couldn't" do.
But sure let's clear things up. I don't buy trash cans. Better, in terms of phone speakers versus headphones, is so minor that they literally don't matter. What does matter is how far your DAC and internal amp get you, and it's hardly enough to justify such a strong pushback for the fact that I'm legitimately excited that my phone will shoot sound AT me instead of away from me. Heaven help me for not wanting to pull out my cans or earbuds every single time I want to watch something or show something to someone. And **** me for wanting sound directed at my face instead of away from it.
I mean, if we're supposed to be all about Android because we love options, why in the literal **** do so many of you insist on dumping on people because their preferences differ from yours? Holy hell.
Just to restate an earlier post, hopefully these "dealbreakers" actually stop all the people moaning from buying the phone so I can have a better shot at buying some for my family.

Most of these were just rumors, but XDA feels confident enough to actually post a story. Stereo speakers excites me.

Dude. This is the main reason I didn't buy a Pixel 1 (and price). The headphone jack thing pisses me off but a dongle isn't that big a deal so I'll probably grab one of these. Our S6s are barely hanging on now and there's not much other options. I'll see how this turns out and I guess it'll be between an XL and a V30 (assuming I can root it). A 3520mah battery with no oem software bloat also bodes very well for the battery (if you turn of always listening music anyway).http://www.androidauthority.com/google-pixel-2-xl-specs-803169/

I don't understand why they bother making such a big deal out of their launcher. I'm going to replace it with nova in 3 min anyway, right after I realize that you can't even swipe "around" the homescreens or have more than one dock! It's so limited, do many really use the stock/google launcher?
