Google Home Mini included with pre-order. Too bad, the new VR headset isn't included.

Did they say if Google Drive storage is free? Or just pictures taken by the Pixel? Heard they were going to make all Google Drive storage free.

Ordered a Just Black Pixel 2 XL, 128gb with Preferred Care for $1,137.31(including tax).

I didn't get the preferred care but I should be fine. My roommate was at work and couldn't order so I just dropped 2k today.

Well it's settled, I'm getting a Pixel 2 XL. Was gonna get a Home mini, so getting that bundled in is awesome!

Really impressed with a lot of what I saw.

That screen looks really nice I really want to see it in person. I was expecting bezels on the sides but looks like they aren't there.

I've been thru 3 Nexus 6P(a drop breaking the screen, 2 battery issue). I abuse my phones so, it's worth it to me. Plus protection if the battery starts dying after a year plus.

I should get mine by the 19th-20th. Was about to change my shipping address because had it been delivered in November, I'm moving so I used a family member's address instead. But knowing how I miss out on packages here at my place I think it's safer to let it be delivered to my mother's place.

Very meh to everything announced. No headphone jack, high price, and I'll be surprised if they are updating this phone in 2020 like they claim. The only aspect I'm excited to see is how the camera performs.

It's not bad I guess. Like most of the phones from this year, it's not especially gripping.

I would probably get the XL if I were getting a new phone.

Not for me. Wanted to upgrade, but it looks like I'll be keeping my S7 for another year... Until next gen Note, maybe.

Curious what it can't do that all the other phones can? Besides wireless charging or using a stylus?

I think it's a fine phone upgrade for anyone that's had the same phone for 2+ years.

Front speakers, oled screen that's I think 1440p. Ip67 rating and should be one of the best cameras according to the dxo score of 98 compared to 92 from last year's pixel. No bloat and updates immediately when they drop.

Sure aesthetically it could look better but it looks better than the renders which is what was going to hold me back.

I caved and bought the Pixel 2 XL 64GB Just Black version. Trading in my Pixel XL 128GB for it.

Without the $410 trade in credit - I wouldn't have upgraded. 2 front firing speakers and IP67 water-proofing was a major selling point for me.

Not having to deal with Apple's closed system (and strange design choices this year) or Samsung's trademarked "fast now slow soon" software issues is reason enough for me. Toss in the awesome camera and unlimited Google Photos storage and I am on board with the Pixel 2 XL. The only thing that held me back last year was the physical design. This year the XL looks a lot better and more like a modern smartphone. Price sucks, but to me it's looking like the best smartphone yet.

If your having trouble checking out I think its because what you are trying to get is out of stock. I was having the same problem, tried to get an xl white/black 64GB and the checkout page kept refreshing. Changed to an all black xl and had no problems.

Congrats Google, you've achieved your goal of ditching nearly every single Android advantage with this.

Next step: wall off that garden and android too can have one main 'feature ' left... crowing on endlessly about 'smoothness' and how 'fast' a deballed, featureless phone is.

Yes but it doesn't do a lot of stuff really smoothly. Wireless charging is real smooth... when it isn't there.

Yeah, that's one reason I returned it last year. This year, it gave me what I was looking for - slimmer bezels, better camera, water resistant.

No headphone is fine with me. Since going wireless, I wish I had gone wireless sooner. Wireless charging was nice with my Nexus 5 but not a big deal that the 2 XL doesn't have it. Spigen cases are showing that they aren't shipping til Nov. Hope that changes as well as any tempered glass screen protectors

Pretty much all the phones are going to end up without a headphone jack. They all follow the trends of technology each year. Adding one thing, removing another, etc. I never used headphones with my phone unless I'm at the gym and my jaybirds do just fine for that.

That sounds..um I dunno bitter I guess. Had it turned out that it wasn't waterproof or ended up looking way uglier than I expected, there's other models to go with like the v30 despite hating third party interfaces.

Besides, Google doesn't have the branding and popularity Apple has. My roommate owns a metropcs store and most consumers have no idea what a pixel is. They come in and ask for iPhone or Samsung galaxy so most people that go with a Google device are tech enthusiasts like members here. Majority of the public doesn't know about it. Nearly everyone I work with, except the developers, didn't even know google had phones to sell. They have small footprint which they are trying to build up I guess but I don't think it will reach the masses like apple has. Calling people apple fans is silly.
