Almost 8 hours of SOT yesterday as it went to 8% before I went to bed. Love the battery life on this phone compared to my aging S6 Edge.

Yea it's pretty damn good with battery. On this new one I got like 4hrs 30min of screen time and it's been 23hrs since last charge.

i got a p2xl oct 20, the following week the camera went black and wouldnt open up. i could open snapchat and use the front facing camera still, but that was it. reset the phone a couple times at the request of google and verizon, still didnt work. got a new replacement from verizon last week, so far so good. and i also love the battery life of this phone so far.

Got my Home Mini today.

Set my home mini up today. It's set in my bedroom and it's a decent size. About the size of a donut. Sound is good and it's at a decent loudness. I connected it to 4 Philip hue lights I have in the apartment. Set up the phone to link it to the home mini and now I can control them even from my car with the WiFi range.

What's cool is my roommate has one too and he set his up in his room to control his lights too and you can voice train it so it doesn't answer to me but it's not 100% fool proof. I need to spend more time with it to understand all it can do when I have more time.

Built my own kernel with the last updates and added power efficient work queues as well as big cores off on sleep and cancelling of driver wake ups (watchdog functions that are really not needed for anything but debugging), three days later with about 10 hours of screen on time I am at 34%.

That is a huge improvement from the Pixel XL I had before.

I got tired of waiting for white Pixel 2 along with the white Pixel buds to come back in stock on the Google store website so I bought unlocked iPhone 8 along with AirPods. This is the second time I bought iPhone over Google Nexus/Pixel phone because of Google Store sub par inventory and terrible ordering process. I think the last time it was with Nexus 4. Maybe I'll try again to buy Google phone in couple of years. It's crazy when you're trying to give money to a company and buy their product yet they can't get their act together.

Yea if you don't get your order in on the day of the event they are scarce after. I got 2 on the 4th of October right after they announced it. They were also available for a while that day. After that they weren't in stock much longer. They popped in and out every week or so.

I was trying to wait for some reviews before buying. I wasn't sure if I wanted the smaller Pixel 2 or the larger XL but after the reviews and all the problems with the XL screens and quality control, it clearly helped me decide on the smaller Pixel 2. But now, white Pixel 2 is out of stock as are the white Pixel buds. And dumb Google won't even let you place an order and wait. So you have to keep checking back to see if you can place an order. What kind of stupid system is that? At least Apple will let you place order even if the item is backordered for 6-8 weeks.

I agree they do need a better ordering system. They used up most of the stock for RMA's too. They should let you place an order and ship it when it's in stock. Also their wait-list never works correctly.

And if they had let me order 2 days ago, I would've bought it. I don't see the logic in not letting someone order a product unless it's discontinued. Provide estimate shipping date and take the order. Don't lock people from even ordering. That's just dumb business.

Mine shipped today, supposed to be here tomorrow. A few days earlier than it was supposed to so that's nice. I agree on their ordering system, they should let people place orders and wait in line, it's pretty annoying to see it just "out of stock" and have to wait for the order page to come back up.

I wonder if the concern about having orders to sit while stock is out is that re-sellers might effectively block up the queue and leave average consumers in a worse position.

It will not broadcast Netflix to my Sony Bravia tv. It says it can't cast to Android TV yet. But it will turn on the TV and cast YouTube to it. I also use it to turn on my lights right as I get home because this damn new apartment doesn't have any light switches where I'd want to plug in lamps.

Yeah I have a Mi Box and it said the same thing to me. But the Mi Box is annoyingly buggy so I also have a Chromecast plugged into the same TV. I'll be stoked once they add Plex support for voice casting.

How is the Pixel 2 XL audio output VOLUME wise. The Nexus 6P was real quiet. I read that the Pixel 1 was also low volume. Getting the LG V20 was refreshing. How is the Pixel 2 doing in this department?

Pixel 2 XL speaker volume is pretty quiet imo. I find max alarm volume pretty inadequate.

For music it's loud. I can set the phone down in the living room with Max volume and it will fill the whole 2 bedroom apartment with sound. The alarm is low for some reason. Speakers on this thing are the best I've had on any phone. Better than the Nexus 6 and the 6p.
