What a damn shame...The day that the all mighty Stackable Staples Cupon died...They finally wised up...But I gotta say, it was good while it lasted because I got one of these monitors...

A word of caution with "ST@ples": Just because it says it ships in "1-Day" on their website don't mean d*ck! eg. I tried ordering the 17" Pixie for a buddy of mine(I know their not the best monitors, but they are cheap and so is he) I called & talked to one of their CSR's and they told me it was out of stock "in my area"(by zipcode). Not only that but I went ahead and ordered a Maxtor HD that he wanted because she said it "was in stock in my area". But then 2 days later I got a call saying it was "out of stock". This is not the first time I have had this happen with "STAPLES" either. This kind of thing really p*sses me off, how hard can it be to know wether something is in stock or not, even over the phone? Sorry my rant is over:|...Oh, and BTW "MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!"

Staples is one of the worst places to buy online IMO. They have screwed me over so many times and this is the last. I just ordered the pixie 17" monitor last week and they charged me the full price even after I used the coupon code. I had to call them back to credit me the difference. But this incident is worse, it was when I placed an order and need to get to $50 to use the promo coupon, well the item was 49 and some change so i got a pen refill to go over the mark. I thought everything was alright till i got an email stating that the pen refill was out of stock, low and behold the order was below the 50 limit and i was charged the full price with no discount. Staples just lost my business.

Staples screwed me over with the 12x4x32 Iomega "Day-after-Thanksgiving PM with BestBuy". But I got em back. I was able to pick one up even cheaper at their B&M location today!

FYI: after having all sorts of screwed up orders, I couldn't get any straight answers so I kept calling and emailing until someone slipped up and mentioned my account had been flagged. When I pressed I found out that if they notice someone using a lot of coupons they will flag the account and intentionally screw up orders until you give up and go away. I was told, off the record, that I shouldn't bother to place any orders because none would go through right, even if I wasn't using any coupons.

Something about that just seems a little fishy RandyL. I think you got some temp worker who just didn't feel like answering you straight out and wanted you off the phone. I would have demanded to speak to a supervisor and ask why they were having employees turn away business. Now if you've been doing a lot of coupon-stacking and other questionable activities I could almost see them taking some sort of action, but I just think intentionally screwing up orders would be more trouble than its worth.

I ordered a 17 inch monitor yesterday 11 am.. got it 8:30 this morning..
That's less than 24 hours..
I paid $116 for the monitor with tax.. with $60 rebate, I will be buying this thing for only $56..
I would say that's pretty good..
I like Staples..

The monitor is only $139 in stores right now. You can call them and they will credit you back the $10. I got mine this morning and I was only charged $116.19 and called about the PM. They credited back my card $10.55. Total after rebate = $45.64 This monitor will be a big improvement over the one my father currently has.

I believe they are talking about the Pixie 17" monitor deal at staples.

There is a rebate on it for $60. If you purchase by 12-26-00. Plus there are online coupons available for $40 off of $150.00.

So the bottom line is order one and pay under $60. including tax and free shipping!

As for the Staples B & M today's price is $139 in store. Less $60 rebate for a total of $90... Not sure if the online coupon for $40 off works in store. I ordered from Staples on phone and they took my coupon over the phone!

Well, it depends on the CSR at their B&M. The first one I talked to told me to order the monitor thru the web site or by phone, said he could not apply the 40 on 150 without a printed coupon. Then, minutes later, as I was insisting and telling them that I would just order by phone and request a customer pick-up in their own store minutes later, they sent me to their supervisor ( for whatever she supervises) and she agreed to use the coupon number right there, on the spot. So, total cost : $139.99 + some CD-R to make it to $150 - $40 coupon - $60. MIR : $ 39.99 for a spanking new 17 in. monitor, and that was the new 770C with supposedly better resolution ( .27 dot pitch instead of .28).

To top it off, the Cd-Rs I bought were Prime Peripherals 16X capable 50 pack at $14.94 less a MIR of $10. All right!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT IS TRUE if you have "abused the coupons" as staples likes to call it, you will have HUGE PROBLEMS ordering from them...I have had several orders from a "flagged" account never come, or coupons not applied...even though I received email confirmation

However, creating a new account (new name, phone number, different apt.#- doesnt matter if its a house just put diff. apt# itll still get to you!) and theres no problems at all/...


it was funny to actually see on the comments section on my packing list one time "this order is on hold for coupon abuse" yet they sent it anyways, at full price....did the simple cc charge dispute and got it for FREE!
