Ordered up a pappa john's pizza. Guy shows up and I have him a 50. He said he didn't have change for a 50, so I just handed him back the pizza.

He then decided that he could trust me with the pizza and come back later for payment once he had change. Worst delivery person ever.

At least the pizza is good.

EDIT - Update, the guy finally came back. I appologized again for not having anything smaller, and he appologized for not having the change, and said it was no big deal. Btw, this time he was carrying well over 100 in his "wad. I gave him a 3.50 tip, and found out where he worked on base. (Hes at the same Army base as mine). I told him I wont pull him over

Why would a pizza delivery guy carry change for a $50.00 bill?

Man - what makes you think he's going to have change for a 50?!? It's company policy for Papa John's that they don't carry any more than 15 dollars in change on them at one time for my store.

How is it his fault for following his company's procedure? You got your pizza - now the guy is going to have to waste more time going back to your house to get payment - causing him to miss more deliveries, which = less tips.

Worst customer evAr!

Of course I will. I dont buy the 15 dollar change thing. As soon as he gets to the first house that pays cash he'll have however much cash anyways. So why not start with a decent amount.

Whenever I was a waiter, I carried 100-200 cash in all size bills for any situation my customers had.

Lets see - how likely were you to get robbed as a waiter!?!?! Wait for it....wait for it.....HARDLY EVER.

What if his first couple of customers paid with check or credit card? Drivers are required to drop all large bills in their locker boxes after every delivery - per Papa John's policy. Don't want to buy that explaination?! - I know, I'm a manager and driver at one.

The blame lies on you - and you're just causing this guy to loose even more money! Congrats Tallbill.

The pizza guy doesn't necessarily have to trust you. After all, he does know where you live

I've had them try it differently.

11 dollar pizza and give them a 20.

Then they proclaim to not have change thinking I'll leave them a tip. So your refuse the pizza and they "magically" find change. no tip for you scumbag.

Yeah well maybe next time he'll pick a company that lets him drive around with 35 dollars. I still dont see how anyone who deals in cash daily doesn't have 35 dollars. I could almost understand if he didn't have change for a 100.

Btw, chances of him getting robbed are pretty low. Maybe things are different in a bigger city.

...

It could have been his first delivery of the day. Why would he have change for a $50?

Company policy says no more than $15-20 with you at all times.

Delivery drivers do not carry money with them in large amounts. They have a place to put it in the store. Again policy

Um - this is standard procedure at every delivery company.

Uhm..

Again maybe you were his 2nd or 3rd delivery of the day.

His bank is $10-15.

Maybe the previous orders he took right before he got to your door asked for a lot of change and he didn't have $9 back to give you.

If you're paying with anything larger than a $20, it's a pretyy well-known rule that you should let whatever place that is delivering the food know ahead of time.

When I used to deliver (I'm actually starting again next week), we were given a $20 bank at the beginning of the shift. After each delivery we tried to get as much cash off of us as possible so if we did get robbed, it wouldn't cost the store too much money. On a slow night with multiple drivers (for example, a Thursday night), we often wouldn't have more than 8 deliveries each, so we wouldn't have all that much cash on us even if we didn't do a money drop.

you are a fool. Its common knowledge that pizza delivery guys dont carry more than 20 bucks in change. All you have in your whole house was a 50 dollar bill?
