Place I got gas yesterday RAN OUT

They were $2.85. Everyone else in the area was $3.05. Needless to say, there were lines. They even filled up the underground tanks around midday. Didn't change prices, either.

I got gas, went over to a friend's, parked my car, and ended up going back later to get a slurpee. When we pulled in, all the pumps had caution tape no them and "NO GAS" signs. It was highly amusing.

And they filled up again this morning. It's *STILL* $2.85.

I remember a few years back at the interchange near home 2 gas stations, BP and speedway had gas wars. So while everyone was at $1.80 or more (sounds so low now ) it was only $1.22 there

Around here, the prices change several times a day. In fact, I think they have hired someone to hang around the gas price sign on a ladder to receive up-to-the-minute updates.

Last night it was $2.95 in Pheonix AZ. I heard on CNN yesterday that it's $3.20 in LA and Chicago.

oooff. Thank god my car gets 24-25 suburb driving and only has a 10 gallon tank. ::sigh:: Guess I can't go joyriding in the backroads as much as I used to.

This is $.15 jump OVERNIGHT. Fifteen effing cents. I drive my 650 miles per month and that's pretty low, but I drive as little as I can.

I paid $2.95/gal this afternoon because the place across the street (a Shell station @ $2.89) ran out of Regular and Plus.
