Well will you morons in other countries realize that it is by no means fair to make a comparision between your gas prices and those of the US?
What the hell are you talking about you stupid idiot? I am just pointing out how much gas costs in my area, just like everyone else in this thread.

last year, kitchener had some cheap gas down on king st. east by sportsworld... the pioneer was at 75.9 while everyone else in the province was in the 90s.

Try and find a semi-modern diesel. I know the US diesel is less refined than Europe's (explaining the MPG differences between our diesel vehicles), but that should help a bit. I mean, averaged out over six months, my 1.6 Focus has been returning 43mpg, and it's petrol. My last company car (1.5 turbodiesel, modern commonrail lump) returned 62mpg. They're well worth a look, although I'm sure you know most of this already

you're using imperial gallons. that will confuse the americans.

I have always wondered; what do diesel drivers do when they are low on gas and cannot find a gas station that carries diesel fuel? Around my area, out of the seven or eight gas stations, only one carries diesel. So what if you are driving somewhere with your good mpg and then when you need to fuel up, you cannot find a pump? I assume that most diesel drivers probably carry some small tank of gas in the storage section of the vehicle, but what if that runs out?

most gas stations have diesel.

AFAIK, 99.9999% of stations have diesel because of the goods vehicles that need it. Buses, too.

Been 22 to 30 cent jumps here, now over $4

Why do you say "not looking good", everyone is enjoying the prices here and want higher.
When you say "everyone is enjoying the prices" you mean only you are enjoying them because you don't have a job to drive to, so you can sit home and mock them while watching TV, right?

He means to imply we "enjoy high prices" because everybody keeps buying gas.

Unfortunately, he's ignoring the truth of the matter: we HAVE to keep buying gas to get to work to make money to buy more gas.

And some of us live miles away from work (it's a 32mi round trip for me, and farther for my dad).
I'm not ignoring anything, that is exactly the point.

They know they have a "captive" consumer that has "no choice".

One of two things has to happen and I'm sure it will be the latter rather than the first.

The American Sheeple either have to rise up against the Oil Barons and the Politicians that support them or the U.S. will experience a major sea change crash.

The crash will consist of the majority of the population going homeless and many losing their cars as well.

This next depression will make the 1929 Depression look like a cake walk because there is no infrastructure set up in the suburbs. People will starve, people will kill each other, it will be like Mad Max. Mark my words.

Imperial gallon is 4.54609 L (exactly)
US liquid gallon is 231 in³ (exactly) or 128 fl oz (exactly) or 3.785411784 L

Thanks Phil

I wish it was just frightening but many many things I have said way ahead of time have come true over the years.

So many things like yourself would say on here would never happen and they do. Enjoy

Has that never happened to you before? I have been filling up and the gas thing ran dry, its a hassle but all it means is you stop at the next station. Its funny how low the prices of gas are in the states, when I was there for e3 last week I was laughing at how cheap it was, so enjoy it.

That would only be true if there were no, absolutely NO, alternatives to fossil fuels.

Here's my prediction: As the price of gas rises higher and higher, there will be a greater incentive for everyone (including the energy companies) to develop alternative technologies. They will become more and more affordable, and in 150 years gasoline will be just a historical footnote.

Yeah, there might be a recession or even a depression during the changeover period, but hardly Mad Max. Do you really think that energy companies, wielding the money and resources they do, would lock themselves in to an energy source that they of all people know is limited? You can't make any money from a Mad Max scenario. They've been investing, and will sell us the alternative once it's economically viable.

Even if it were Mad Max, who cares about the suburbs, it's not like they're real people
