On what? Your lawn mower?

LOL!

I bought 20$ worth of Premium and it gave me a whole 6.2 gallons.

:Q

That isn't going to get me very far at 13.5MPG.

I am going to buy a new car this month, even if I only have 500$ to spare. Don't care what it looks like, as long as it is somewhat reliable. I thought $200/mo was bad; I cannot afford $300/mo.

This is $.15 jump OVERNIGHT. Fifteen effing cents. I drive my 650 miles per month and that's pretty low, but I drive as little as I can.

Those are the prices here. My boss at H.E.B. (a grocery store with a gas station) said he attended a meeting this week in Houston on how to handle irrate customers when gas hits $4 a gallon here. I was like, "WHAT??!" He said we can expect to pay $4-$5 a gallon by the end on May. That totally blows!!

In the past two weeks it's gone from $2.53/gal to $2.95/gal at the place across the street, and the first couple went over $3/gal or so yesterday.

Dude, Segway. It's the wave of the future!

No seriously, all my friends are getting bikes. The fast looking ones, not choppers. We have had LA type weather here so nowone is using their cars if they have bikes.

I've thought about it..

But I live in Oregon, so it's really not a viable option.. It'd be nice in the summer, but it would suck any other time of the year.

All I can say is that I picked a GREAT time to get my motorcycle endorsement.

I regret never owning a truly fast car, though.

Try and find a semi-modern diesel. I know the US diesel is less refined than Europe's (explaining the MPG differences between our diesel vehicles), but that should help a bit. I mean, averaged out over six months, my 1.6 Focus has been returning 43mpg, and it's petrol. My last company car (1.5 turbodiesel, modern commonrail lump) returned 62mpg. They're well worth a look, although I'm sure you know most of this already

Why do you say "not looking good", everyone is enjoying the prices here and want higher.

When you say "everyone is enjoying the prices" you mean only you are enjoying them because you don't have a job to drive to, so you can sit home and mock them while watching TV, right?

He means to imply we "enjoy high prices" because everybody keeps buying gas. Unfortunately, he's ignoring the truth of the matter: we HAVE to keep buying gas to get to work to make money to buy more gas. And some of us live miles away from work (it's a 32mi round trip for me, and farther for my dad).

I have always wondered; what do diesel drivers do when they are low on gas and cannot find a gas station that carries diesel fuel? Around my area, out of the seven or eight gas stations, only one carries diesel. So what if you are driving somewhere with your good mpg and then when you need to fuel up, you cannot find a pump? I assume that most diesel drivers probably carry some small tank of gas in the storage section of the vehicle, but what if that runs out?

Every filling station in the UK carries diesel, not least because all the trucks (i.e heavy goods vehicles) use it.
The market penetration of diesel cars is very, very high here compared to the US. People like getting 900+miles on one tank.

Well will you morons in other countries realize that it is by no means fair to make a comparision between your gas prices and those of the US?
What the hell are you talking about you stupid idiot? I am just pointing out how much gas costs in my area, just like everyone else in this thread.

It's a joke. He's pointing out how silly us Americans are to complain about our own gas prices when it's always been much higher in every other country.

I don't think it's silly, per se. I do think that gas thread after gas thread is bordering on whining though. You (not you specifically) can't do anything about it, so suck it down.

Exactly. We're addicted.

We're lucky they're not charging us $100 a gallon

Venezula apparently only pays like 5 cents per litre (which works out to less than a quarter USD per gallon.

People complaining about gas prices is basically identical to them admitting to being short-sighted as well as gullible.

I remember when visitng a friends college there were two gas stations. They were having a price war...it was down to like 1.50 and this is when it was like 2.50. You had to wait in a line of atleast 4 cars to get gas.
