No surprise here.

It's not just from increased Industrial output.

It's the just total trashing of the planet man does for the sake of money.

Instead of building with the planet in mind, it's the scorched Earth, mow it all down, who needs trees mentality that is doing the damage.

Of course the rich naysayers responsible for this will never admit that.

They like their concrete Mansions.

Future holds more extreme weather

For a world already weary of weather catastrophes, the latest warning from top climate scientists paints a grim future: More floods, more heat waves, more droughts and greater costs to deal with them.

A draft summary of an international scientific report obtained by The Associated Press says the extremes caused by global warming could eventually grow so severe that some locations become "increasingly marginal as places to live."

The final version of the report from a panel of leading climate scientists will be issued in a few weeks, after a meeting in Uganda. The draft says there is at least a 2-in-3 probability that climate extremes have already worsened because of man-made greenhouse gases.

From June to August this year in the United States, blistering heat set 2,703 daily high temperature records, compared with only 300 cold records during that period. That made it the hottest summer in the U.S. since the Dust Bowl of 1936, according to Weather Underground Meteorology Director Jeff Masters, who was not involved in the study.

Biggest jump ever seen in global warming gases

The global output of heat-trapping carbon dioxide jumped by the biggest amount on record, the U.S. Department of Energy calculated, a sign of how feeble the world's efforts are at slowing man-made global warming.

The new figures for 2010 mean that levels of greenhouse gases are higher than the worst case scenario outlined by climate experts just four years ago.

"The more we talk about the need to control emissions, the more they are growing," said John Reilly, co-director of MIT's Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change.

The world pumped about 564 million more tons (512 million metric tons) of carbon into the air in 2010 than it did in 2009. That's an increase of 6 percent. That amount of extra pollution eclipses the individual emissions of all but three countries — China, the United States and India, the world's top producers of greenhouse gases

India and China are huge users of coal. Burning coal is the biggest carbon source worldwide and emissions from that jumped nearly 8 percent in 2010.

Genoa battered by flash floods, 6 die

Torrential rains lashed Genoa and Italy's western coastline again Friday, triggering flash floods that killed at least six people as raging water uprooted trees and swept cars and furniture through the streets.

As two rivers broke their banks, authorities urged residents to move to the upper floors of buildings and warned that the worst could still come with rains forecast at least through Saturday.

"Oh God, it's a disaster, it's a disaster!" wailed one woman whose video of recycling bins, motorcycles and cars being swept along city streets was shown on RAI state television. "Oh God, it's a person," she said, zeroing in on an apparent corpse floating in the cappuccino-colored rivers of mud.

At least 10 people died in floods that swept the sea coast near Genoa on Oct. 28. The Cinque Terre, a top tourist attraction, has been digging out the mud ever since.

In to answer your retarded post.
Why are the people champoining global warming putting out fake or falsified data?

The like of you support the OWS douches but also want big business to make alternative energy sources? Climate Change is nothing more than a way for a select group of Rich people to try and shit money from oil and gas companies to them. They aren't trying to save the planet, they want to make money. Al Gore, the champion of Global Warming was trying to push his carbon credit non-sense. His company would make a nominal fee on each transaction of transfering wealth around. Yet Al Gore himeself wasn't willing to curtail his carbon foot print, just create a bunch of credits through his service, so he could trade them and continue living in his mansion using more electricity in a month than most of us use in a year.
It's all about $$$.

They only thing I agree with is that people throw trash anywhere they feel like. Nothing worse than walking in the woods literally a hundred miles from any major city and finding piles of trash every where.

Then I suppose the OP needs to start looking for another place to live.

I guess we get to look forward to decades of bleating from climate changers since voters and governments have completely disregarded their warnings in favor of economic growth. Sure, you might get a California cap-n-trade once in a while, but otherwise the movement has been a colossal failure.

Too bad this quote tells you all you need to know about this BS report.

The report from the Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change marks a change in climate science, from focusing on subtle shifts in average temperatures to concentrating on the harder-to-analyze freak events that grab headlines, hurt economies and kill people.

So they decide to focus on exceptions rather than the rule. So they want to focus on "harder-to-analyze" events for their "scientific" research. Why? Because that makes for better new and hence better grants. Since when can you take a freak WEATHER phenomenon and extrapolate CLIMATE change for that? What a joke.

OP wants to cherry pick record events? Here are some for ya.

Oh, you were talking temperature. Yup, those +0.29 degree anomalies are killing people.

Places on Earth becoming Un-inhabitable as man heats up planet

Tell us Dave, what places on Earth cannot be inhabitable due to less than a third of a degree? Is it cause of floods and droughts right? Cause you know those never happened before 350ppm CO2.

You forgot to mention the snow storm the east got hit with,.. in October!! OCTOBER! Snow. LOTS OF IT, in OCTOBER!

Clearly, there is NO global warming. None what so ever. Our dumping of chemicals into the environment have no effect. None. Nada. Zip.

And, every single peice of evidence it totally false and untrue.

You have shown me the way.

Thank you.

Now, since I personally have never been the victim of a terrorist attack - there is no such thing as terrorism. And, since I have never been mugged - muggings do NOT occur. All those police reports, they are a fake. Made up. I am on to these tricks and lies by all the Al Gores out there.

//thumbs up

Maybe there IS hope for me? Now, if only I can stomach rich person's fecal matter, then I can truly be like some of the champions of the American way of life.

Right, gotcha. Cold weather is just weather. Hot weather is climate, always.

As a biologist, I'm not a bit worried. The laws of nature will kick in (if they haven't started already) and the human population will crash. The ecosystem that is planet earth will re-balance itself and life will go on. Yet to be determined if the human race will be a part of it.
Humans are not much better than lemmings when it comes to living WITH the biosphere.
IF we, as a species, want to avoid a natural crash we are going to have to embrace the natural fundamentals of living IN our environment not at the expense of it. From what I understand, the American Indian came the closest to getting it right. Are YOU willing to return to that lifestyle??

So, what you're saying is that 1936 was hotter than 2011?

Right, gotcha. Cold weather is just weather. Hot weather is climate, always.

Also, humans have no effect on our planet's environment - let's keep trashing the place. It will be just fine.

Bunch of tree huggers. Always bending the truth until it breaks to get some attention.

LOL - they should just tweet and have their friend follow them, amirite? Leave the businessmen to make the sound decisions on how to treat our planet. Not the retards who want to prevent a disaster,... a disaster that doesn't even exist!

Hey, am I doing it right?

There is a lot of stuff that is not making main stream news. Texas parks and wildlife is worried about the drastic decline of fresh freshwater mussels. I have heard the word "extinction" in the past few months to describe the rate of decline.

Then there is the decline of the frog population,,,,,.

I think the world is on a tipping point with pollution, population and climate change. People may not want to admit it, but the evidence is right in front of out eyes. When we have species dying off, there is something wrong.

Here in southeast Texas, we can not even eat the fish from our local lakes and rivers without worries of mercury.

I took this pic a few months ago at a local boat launch.

So where is the mercury coming from? Is it found naturally in the ground or is it coming from burning coal or what? Gas and plastics from boats? Gasoline from boating? Fertilizer?

Water Treatment Plants?

Small Arms Manufacture?

Gun Powder? Quit firing guns everywhere.

Nevada has the same issues with its rivers and lakes with regards to the mercury levels. A person is only supposed to consume one fish a year in many cases as to avoid overexposure. The only thing is, this mercury pollution was a result of the mining industry two centuries ago. Current mining methods wouldn't create this problem. Oh and current proposed legislation isn't going to make it go away either. We just have to live with the past and make sure not to repeat it, at least what we can control that is.

So where is the mercury coming from?

The majority of the mercury comes from coal burning power plants.

The mercury comes down in the rain water,
mercury gets into bacteria,
plankton eat the bacteria,
fish eat the plankton.

I love how they throw in catch phases such as "Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change" to imply that these guys know what the hell they're talking about.
