hey guys, so I've decided to venture into PC building instead of cheaping out with a Dell.
1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Gaming, Digital Audio production, Photoshop, Media, Web browsing, Work, life
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
1,500-2,500
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
California, United States
4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.
nope
5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
none
6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
yes
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
overclocking later on, no aftermarket cooler at this point
8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
buying today, building this week

goals
- Able to play Crysis admirably (don't like the game itself much but since I'm gonna be playing other high end games using this as a benchmark, maybe would like to show off some time in the future too
- silent-esque. absolute silence not necessary, but no jet engines please.
I am willing to make a compromise regarding performance & silent operation...
- Able to multitask with zero slowdown
- Able to run virtulization software
Here's what I've got so far. Critique, advise, comment if you will. Also if you know any special deals for any of the parts, let me know!
