No. To be fair it was a different time. People's thoughts and morals have been evolving for a couple hundred years since then. So it's good we are further along now than we were then. To judge them based on what we know now isn't really fair.

But we shouldn't change anything else about what they did because "reasons" ?

How much was he down in 2016? If people would have listened to the polls they wouldn't have gone out and voted. Voting for Trump was just a waste of time because he was so far down it was hopeless... Good thing people didn't listen to the lies the media is spewing. I don't believe a single poll. Simple as that.
Maybe you will actually read this.

Oh, so THAT part wasn't made by some smart motherfuckers, but the rest was.

This apparently includes the electoral college, one of whose primary purposes was to incorporate the 3/5ths compromise into presidential elections, lol. Care to rethink that?

Because some really smart mofuckers put together a constitution and so far so good.
Also it's not fair for a few states to decide what is good for the country. People are easily influenced and when they get together it's easy for them to lean a certain way. This gives representation to all of Americans.

They were smart for their time and they still fucked up. Only property owners could vote. Blacks were slaves. Women couldn't vote. You regressives probably enjoyed those times, but anyways, so far so good right? Only took a civil war so far, plus decades of protest and suffering to fix some of the other problems, and it's still broken. The system was not designed perfectly, so many states have been added, population centers have changed, the ironclad 2 party system they didn't envision but happened anyway is broken too, etc... So much to dive into. All of it is way above your intellect level.

Looks like god damned mad max wastelands.

Until recently I didn’t realize *some* red state guys think of blue states as alien lands. Like we all drive in different strange technology cars and attend weekly flag burnings.
Really strange to think that.
Admittedly I have preconceived notions about deep red states but mine are more like I imagine breakfast places being really old and slightly broken down but functional.

I lived in Kentucky before moving here. I understand. Where I lived in Kentucky you had this:

And then you go an hour or so east and get this:

And yet those homeowners vote for the same party?

Give me a fucking break. I've been riding my bike around three boroughs of NYC and meeting with people that live in the city and there is zero sign of rape, pillaging, anarchy burned buildings, fire, war, or whatever bullshit right wing media uses on the feeble minded folks like yourself. There is a funny thread on the NYC subreddit about all the anarchy going on. Not like you ignorant x-urban and rural red folks give a flying fuck about the cities filled with liberals anyways. It's all just faux concern and a reason to get the simpleminded authoritarian fascists in you riled up.

You folks have benefited from both wealth redistribution on a federal level, socialist policy that gives you guys the infrastructure you take advantage of, and with states that have income taxes, wealth redistribution from blue urban areas to less populated red areas.
And you've lost sight of the reason you have food on you and your families dinner plates. Of course an economic hub is going to create more jobs and money. You can't have that without having the red states that grow the food you eat or the drill for the oil you use to power your lifestyle. Good thing we have the infrastructure we do. No one went hungry during this pandemic. Lots of countries quit sending out food. Money be damned.

So wait, are these areas where all the jobs and money are or wastelands people are fleeing?

I feel like you have to pick one.

lol. You don't seriously believe that do you? Any hope you guys had went out the fucking window when you guys let a bunch of anarchist losers rape and pillage the very towns you live in. You woke up a sleeping giant. The american people are going to speak loud and clear this election and you aren't going to like their answer.

guys, I think he's decided that he's voting for Trump again.

I haven't lost sight of shit. It's you ungrateful and ignorant folks that vote against the very systems that have benefited you in so many ways. Up till this year I was ok with the system that redistributed funds and infrastructure for all Americans in any setting, etc... but you idiots voted in Trump and worship him, who rules as if it's red states vs blue states, blue cities vs red areas. It's all about his supporters, not the United States of America. So y'all can go fuck yourselves. We want our money back. We'll buy your goods, take care of our infrastructure better, and still have money left over.

You do realize California is generally number one or two in agricultural receipts each year?

Also the federal government heavily subsidizes farmers (they get paid by our tax dollars) even in red states.

People are fleeing the politics. People ultimately want a safe place to live and a house they can afford. California and NY don't provide that for it's people any longer due to being so poorly run.

But what I'm saying is that it provides more representation to some Americans over others for no reason other than the over-represented Americans live in more sparse, rural areas.

Also, if people are easily influenced, doesn't that make it worse to provide more representation for less people? Theoretically, it would take less effort to sway the same amount of representation because there are less people to manipulate.

They are so poorly run that they are somehow where all the jobs and money are? lol.

Again, have you really thought this through? Maybe the areas in the middle of the country should look to them for tips on how to become economically competitive?

Sorry, but CA produces more food for the country than any of your bullshit corn states. Humans can't live off of (mostly unpalatable, mostly thrown away, subsidized and never grown, mostly alcohol) corn.

Have another bullshit talking point to try and cram down literate people's throats?

Every single day, a train a mile long hauls produce and meat grown or raised in Oregon and Washington to feed the people back east. While California grows more food than most (if not all) of the other states combined. But yeah, we'd starve to death without the red states.
