In sniping and PvP, absolutely. Vehicle maps, controllers are gonna get some ups.

I really do not feel like giving the long winded explanation why a mouse will really offer no help 90% of the time in a console shooter...

some of these new optical mice pump up allot of information per second, can Halo 2's handle it? I doubt it. And if it could, it would be choppy and jumpy as hell.

I switched back. Wasn't worth the hassle... that and my wife to be owned an A/T car.

Unless I'm not aware of a new mouse type,
I'm guessing he meant the mice that claim to be optical when they're really the opto - mechanical (regular ball mouse where a sensor reads the little wheel with teeth being turned) vs the actual optical mice (calling this a "laser" mouse)

Truth hurts... This is a well known fact umong anyone with a PC and a FPS game. Platform is irrelevant, though.

Same thing in a flight sim, HOTAS ownes keyboard+mouse.

I have yet to see anyone proclaim that a controller is every bit as good as a kb/mouse in a FPS.

But that doesn't mean they aren't enjoyable with a controller. Halo on the Xbox is probably the best game I've ever played.

Oh good lord, have you ever tried to playe a flight sim like IL2 or LoMAC without a HOTAS? It . . . ugh. No words can describe.

Even action games wit flight like Battlefeild and Battlefront, flight completely sucks with the mouse + keyboard. But when you connect a joystick to use it with, you realize that flight in those games sucks period.

But yeah, I can't aim with a controller, but the last FPS I played on a consol was Goldeneye for the N64, and that game was just hardcore with or without control problems. Damn, but you can't tell me that wasn't one of the best games ever.
