Sony's PlayStation 3 is due to drop November 17th this month. Hitting the stores in two flavors, a Core system at $499. It includes a 20GB HD (upgradable), HDMI, Bluetooth wireless controllers and the much acclaimed Blue-ray. The Premium system to retail at $599, adds a silver exterior trim, WiFi and flash card readers for the picture buffs. More spec's can be found here.
Then you have to figure in games at $60 a pop. Two of the most intrueging games to me are, Resistance: Fall of Man and Call of Duty 3. Check out the HD video of each and the screen shots. Both of which are breathtaking in graphical quality. Altho there are some games that really look ugly (atleast from the pics). Here is an example. Jaggies all over the place
All preorders are taken and only a select few will get one on launch day. Those lucky few, would have spent many hours waiting to retrieve thier prized possession. Some will end up on E-bay selling for thousands and others will keep it.
To all those who end up with a Play Station 3, my hats off to you. Too expensive for me. After adding an HDTV, I would have to spend as much as I did on my PC. Thats just not going to happen anytime soon.
Sony PlayStation 3 is the first console I've been interested in for over 5 years. I will end up with one, but long after the rush.
