I recommend getting it. Solo kinda bores me as I like the tactics with duos and squads.

Even though it didn't turn out to be on sale I think I'm getting it soon...we'll see how long I hold out. But how do squads work with that battle royale stuff? After everyone else is out, you say sorry to your squadmates then go after them?

No, your entire squad wins when the last guy not on your squad dies.

Got my first solo chicken dinner on Miramar. I'm thinking Miramar is best for solos or duos and Erangel is a better squad map. Thoughts?

There is a ton of hate for the new map. Personally I like it, but they really need to fix some things in general.
Aiming is WAY off in 3rd person.. even point blank the shots don't hit where your cross hairs are.
I like the new death camera because at least now I can more easily see if someone is cheating. I really think they need to work on their stereo field. I simply can hardly tell where shots are coming from.

I've only ever played solo as any game that requires squads is always a bunch of try hards or the polar opposite where they just do their own thing anyway. Closest I've gotten is to #2 a few times.

I found that going 1080p instead of 1440p helped me tremendously in my playing ability.

I'm completely lost: early access ran fine. Version 1.0 won't even load. Even deleted local content and re-download the 1.4gb of files and all I get is the battleye launcher showing up in the task manager for a couple of seconds then disappears and nothing happens.

Edit: After spending about 3 minutes on the PUBG forums, turns out my C++ files needed to be re-installed / updated and now everything works.

It just goes black for me on start, but found hitting my space button makes the title screen load.

Agree about sound - they really need to roll out 5.1 sound as there are times the shot sounds like it is coming from EVERYWHERE.

Disagree about squads with one caveat - if you play a pick-up squad, it is exactly as you describe. If you have a Discord server and friends to play a squad with, it is a blast.

I was killed by the #1 ranked guy today. I did the deathcam..the guy is an all out cheater. Why is he not banned? It's not the first time I've been killed by him, but this is the first time I actually saw for myself he's a cheating ass.

I was killed the other night on Miramar and I was suspicious, so I took a look at the deathcam. The guy was 100-150 yards away with an M-16 on full auto and a red dot as his optics. He mowed me down (I was even running for some of it) and it was like there was absolutely no recoil on his gun at all - it was perfectly steady and tracked me perfectly. Riiiiiight.......

I think he had some sort of maphack and/or positional tracking..something. He came up in a vehicle probably 500-600 meters from a spot that I was sitting prone in. He had no line of site on me. He jumps out of his vehicle and pops up over a hill and aimed right at me with no actual vision of me and then head shot me. It's like he knew exactly where I was when there was really no way he could have, then blindly fired into bushes and just 'happened' to one shot me. He didn't even stop moving then he immediately scoped some other player in a totally different direction as if he knew he was there.

Something similar happened to me in Los Leones last night - this time he killed my brother and then turned and rapid fired with a Mini (with only a red dot) and killed me at 100-150 yards away while I was in an open-ended metal crate. No recoil on his gun, no delay in finding me, nothing - he got reported.

I'd assume it's just a firing rate that accommodates for recoil timing and lets the gun settle before firing subsequent shots

If you know how, you can macro pretty much anything. I had a macro saved for a Haymaker in L4D2 and a few macros for TF2 for a combat Engi (swap to sentry, toss sentry, swap back to shotgun at the press of a button). I never used the macros in any serious manner and had to clear all macros when I played competitive matches on L4D2, but they were small QoL enhancements.

I also had macros set up to spam Trailer Park Boys' quotes. I got kicked from a few servers because of language when I forgot which quote I had bound to which macro. Good times just goofing off in 2Fort and Arena servers.

Because they cheat? Chinese players on NA servers cheating is a big issue right now.

I've heard this - I've never encountered a cheater at all on EU servers in 160+ hours of gameplay.

Maybe they don't go on the EUR servers? I've been playing on the KOR/JPN servers and haven't seen any cheating there, but on the US and ASN servers I see it quite often.

I'm usually pretty slow to report people for cheating, but I did play 4 games yesterday and was killed in 2 of them by people who where obviously using hacks.

One of my deaths I was in the middle of a warehouse and was shot 4 times resulting in my death in the game. I checked the replay, and there was the other player on the other side of the town in a building randomly shooting towards my building through another building. If I was guessing their bullets probably went through a couple walls with some sort of auto aim as well. Went ahead and posted the video, it would be nice if Blue Hole would give kickbacks for helping get people banned, since they are going to just turn around and buy another key. The last minute or two is where it gets really crazy, they aren't even trying to hide it.

The other one was more sneaky. I found this one by checking the replay, and found that the player drove into the zone, and walked up a hill with no line of site on me. Then they waited a few seconds behind a tree, probably to avoid the deathcam showing that they knew where I was, before shooting me 2 times with a k98. As they were walking up the hill they had their site pointed directly at me.

Yeah the cheating has become a lot worse on the NA servers. My first few months playing the game I saw zero cheating and lately it's been ridiculous. They need to get it under control -- put a region lock on the servers (why are there Chinese players in NA servers?!?!?!), better cheat reporting that actually results in bans, whatever or they're going to start bleeding players.
