I've seen several videos of people playing this game and they all seem to like it.
Looks pretty cool. It's like a Battle Royale/Hunger Games mashup.

Comes out tomorrow and I hear it's going to be $30.
not sure if it's EA or full release. They've been having closed beta weekends so that makes me think it should be full release.

I think I'm going to buy it and at least check it out.

Seems like fun, not sure if it's worth $30 though as it will likely never be out of ea

I pre-purchased the game so I could have access to the Closed Beta and it was worth it. The developer has released regular weekly updates throughout the closed beta and I suspect that won't change going into early access. It's a polished game that will definitely be released after EA.

I bought it and played 1 game so far. 98 people in the game and I made it down to the last 4. Killed 2 dudes but then I got sniped at the end in the small play area. I should have kept moving but I was sitting still for too long.

Player movement and actions seem a bit clunky and slow. I hope they can smooth that out.
Graphics looked better in videos I watched. it looks like i had everything on highest settings too.

I only had a double barrel shotgun and a 9mm pistol and some grenades for like half the game then found an AK and a pump shotgun. The first guy I killed was with the double barrel fairly early on.was pretty satisfying, lol. Didn't really see anyone else besides a car driving away after that. when the circle got the 2nd smallest before I died was when I killed the 2nd guy with the AK. I think someone else was shooting at me too. was real low health so had to use all my bandages and 1st aid kit.

The game is more tactical than H1Z1 King of the Kill but not nearly as slow as Arma3

Sounds like a fun concept, I'm curious now. How long does an average match take? Is it fun/worth buying?

I don't know how long the match took. didn't seem very long to me. Steam says 35 minutes played (i quit after the first match, so there's the match plus a few minutes looking at and changing settings, etc).

It's the #1 viewed game on twitch at the moment so I think that speaks for itself.

so regarding match time, i still don't know what the limit is, but if you're unlucky it could end within 2 minutes, like for the guy i killed last game, lol. i knew he dropped in right near me, i found an uzi and ran right to the house where i thought he was. sure enough, he was in there and i surprised him and killed him. he was pissed, lol.

i played several games now and closest i got to the end was the last 4. after that the closest i got was 26. others were in the 50s and 40s.

it really depends on how soon you get a weapon, how soon other players get a weapon, where you drop compared to the play area, how many others drop near you, etc.

this last game i killed a guy and was looting his body and i got shot. i couldn't get out of the inventory screen for some reason, kept going to the settings but that might have been me panicking.

I really want to play the duo mode where you play with a partner, but i don't want some random dude, lol.

there's solo where iys everyone against everyone else, there's duos where it's teams of 2 against each other, and i think i saw quads, so teams of 4 against other teams of 4.

some of the guns handle like ass too. was trying to shoot people and completely missing and they have some big recoil. i snuck behind some dude and shot at hm twice from like 5 feet away with a shotgun and never hit him. he turns and sprays me with an uzi on full auto and kills me.

Its not perfect in my opinion but it is fun and it gets the adrenaline going because you never know where players might be. if they continue to tweak it, it could be really better.

I wish they had some kind of single player or like vs bots mode so you could get a feel for stuff instead of having to jump right in and not know anything. i feel like the beta guys got a huge head jump because they know how stuff works, what weapons and good/bad, how they handle, where good loot is, what to avoid, etc.

Yea, I wish I had heard about the beta. Not sure I'm willing to drop $30 sight unseen unless I end up hearing really great things. I'll check out some vids

I'm Black Fox (steam level 20, avatar is a 1911 on top of an AR-15) in steam if anyone wants to try to play together.
I really want to do a duo or quad but don't want to do it with randoms. need a teamspeak server or something when we play so other players can't hear hear us talk, unless you can restrict the ingame voip to your own team.

i swear every time the plane flies over the island to spawn, there is at least one guy repeatedly yelling racial slurs.

Every time I get in a firefight my heart races. I don't get that feeling in other fps games, lol.

damn, i don't think i will ever win a match in solos. I can get down pretty far towards the end but when it really closes in I always die. I never see where my killer is and it seems to always be a headshot.

I tend to wait for the plane to get pretty far in the map so there aren't too many people in the area I jump out at. so by the time I get halfway through the match, half the people are dead already, lol. I only end up killed like 2-3 at most so far.

I never seem to find any really good gear. this last game all I had was 2 SMGs until near the end where I killed a player and took his AK.

HOLY CRAP! just finished a game where I made it to the last 2!! that was intense!

I died stupidly though. I tried to throw a molotov cocktail but apparently it takes some time to ignite it and during that time the last guy shot me. so stupid. had I known that I would have just went for the gun kill.

1st time i got a supply drop, landed like right next to me, lol. got a tommy gun and ammo for it.
the tommy gun is AMAZING at close quarters. 100 round mag, fast fire. mows them down like nothing!

made final 2 a few more times.

last time I was in a car and i knew where the last guy was so i stopped the car a little distance off. the car was flaming but I still stupidly hid behind it when there was a tree nearby.
anyway, i got out, healed to full health and we exchanged a few shots, sure i hit him at least once. then he must have shot the car because it exploded and I died.

argh! i keep dying in stupid ways! I get so caught up that I don't think straight, lol.

I never buy early access games, but I had to have this. Yes its clunky and looks like crap, but this game is fun as hell. None of those defects ruin the game. Its intense as hell. I made it as low as 9 I think and just died at 13. Man its tough. One thing about this game that makes it good is that its unfair. All games today are so fair and hold your hand so much its stupid. This is a real game. Reminds me of the golden age of PC gaming back in the 90's. FPS sucks some of the time and its kind of clunky, but its great.
At the start of the match, me and someone else ran for a gun. I got the gun, they stole all the ammo except for one. I reached for it, the clunkiness wouldn't let me pick it up, and they punched me to death. That sucked. I laughed though.

Ding ding ding. I don't understand how anyone who enjoys this genre could play KoTK now.

I don't find the game that clunky but I understand what people mean. I think a lot of it is movement is just slower than a pure twitch FPS. It could be tightened up some but I think some of it is intentional. The biggest issue is they need to improve object interaction--interaction prompts, picking up items, etc.

yep.
fix netcode too. lost connection to game server twice now halfway through a match.

I really want to play duos or squads, so you guys that have this, hit me up in steam so we can play!

had my first suspicious encounter tonight. i was in a house, i had killed a guy and looted him, then i was hiding and there was only 1 small window that anyone could see me. pretty much have to look straight in at me to see me. after a couple minutes i hear a guy running around the house. he ran right by the small window so i doubt that he saw me. anyway, i heard him come around towards where the door was to my right. i was back in a little between 3 walls. i never heard the door open, and then all of a sudden he was right in front of me and killed me instantly. i didn't even have time to react. he had to know exactly where I was and while not impossible, it was very unlikely.

i thought that after playing a little while the adrenaline rush jittery nerves, etc would wear off, but I'm still as jittery and nervous as the 1st game!

I had a suspicious encounter last night. I was ducking in a house and I got insta-killed somehow. Single shot from nowhere. I could have just been sniped and since I'm so noob still I'm in no position to make judgments like that in this game. In BF4 it got to the point where I was like 90% right in my hackusations, but in this game I can hardly aim a gun straight.

This game is exciting as hell because the consequences for death are ultimate. You just died? Yeah, you're so done now you get to play on another server! Better luck next time. Now that's a proper consequence.
Also, this game will make me learn what is actually useful to have as far as weapons and equipment are concerned. In a regular FPS game its hard to tell what's useful or not because if you die, you don't care and you just come right back. In this game, will using a red dot sight improve your chances of survival? Will running around with a scope help you? This game will teach you the hard way what's actually beneficial and what isn't through its finely calibrated system of hard knock deliverance. In other games, all those things are more or less simply preferences because they don't have any real consequences attached to using them. Its mostly about basic preferences and what looks cool.

In BF4, if I was playing on a regular server, I would just keep my M98 out and deal with close quarters fights by trying to be faster than the people with the full autos. Sometimes it worked and others it didn't, but I didn't care. I'd just take that tradeoff because I loved the M98 so much. This game doesn't afford me that luxury. I am forced to learn what is most effective in close quarters and at long distances and make sure I use each for their best purpose, or else its bye bye time to find another server!

EDIT: Yeah so I think I just got shot by some noob who glitched inside a boat and I couldn't see him but he could see me. I was wrecking him and he vanished and I got shot, presumably by him. I died in 8th place. Felt good about that one. Killed 4 people and was armed well. Damn it.

You know, I was just thinking of something regarding this game, and 'last man standing' games in general. I've played a bunch in the past on LMS FPS's, and it was always kinda fun watching the remaining players zip around once you died off waiting for the next round. Why hasn't anyone incorporated a twitch/let's play style of post-death viewership, like after you get knocked out you get to watch the other guys run around with their little webcam in the corner or something (if they choose to) blabbering/giving tips of what they're doing. I feel like that would be a thing that could work in today's gaming scene.

I wished I had the ability to spectate after dying in this game. I really wish they incorporated that.
