Found this entertaining, and gives a small sample of the type of fun you can find in the game (although the video omits the 90% of it that is just running around and looting).

I'm really enjoying it, but I've got friends with whom I can play. The performance drops are serious, and it's very reliant on RNG and human nature - maybe you end up alone in a great town with lots of stuff, maybe you end up with a ton of other people all fist-fighting for lack of weapons.

The community is absolutely horrible though. Voice chat sucks, but there are some people who use it and will give away their presence or plans with it.

Yeah, we've got a Mumble server set up. I can't imagine only using the in game chat to coordinate.

What's everyone's favorite weapon? I like the S12K personally.

Really liking this game. It is like a less crappy Day Z (though, I only played the Arma mod). The tension is a lot of fun. Clearing houses and moving to the points. It's a lot easier with a squad though.

General I prefer an M16 if I can get one. Sometimes I'll go with an AKM instead if my duo temmate is using a 5.56 weapon so that we don't compete on ammo early game when it's scarce. But for the most part, I'd say the 4 assault rifles are pretty much interchangeable and any one of them is fine.

If I can't find an assault rifle, I'll use the best uzi I can find. Love the vector, but even the micro uzi is pretty decent if I can't find an assault rifle. Shotguns are okay if I can't find any of the above.

I'd have the sniper rifles higher on the list but I almost never see them, so my experience with that sort of play is low.

Pistols aren't terrible, but the other weapons generally outclass them. I don't like the revolver.

Frying pan is by far the best melee weapon.

I think the M416 is probably the best overall. SCAR has higher RoF iirc, but as a whole package it's flat out worse in every way. M16 is certainly better at longer range than the M416, and is technically but, not realistically, capable of higher dps. AKM, different beast. It's just as viable as all the others and that's purely preference imo. Some games I feel like using it, others I don't.

The Vector is downright godly. It's also surprisingly easy to pick people from range with it. UMP is also nice. I generally carry one if I'm stuck with an M16. Shotguns are pretty good but I am shit with them in this game for some reason, so I have to stick to the subs.

UMP is best SMG I have used so far. Uzi's rate fire is to high imo and end up shooting all the ammo to fast and not hitting, lol. Haven't found the vector yet.
I usually try to get like 1 assault and whatever the next best thing. Usually ends up being like AK and M16. I rarely find the sniper rifles, like KAR98 or the SKS.
Only got a crate once and it had the tommy gun. That thing was awesome for CQB. never got the m24 or AWM yet.

I get like 1-3 kills per game and the people I kill rarely have anything good.

I jumped on this....I will probably suck, but I really liked The Culling early on and this looks like a more refined larger version of that.

Same here. I get so close and then just can't pull it off. It's kind of frustrating.

It is an air strike, but it isn't controlled by anyone in game as far as I know.

its controlled by the game, not a person. At first I thought it was happening if there is someone camping in the area but I don't think that is the case. I think it's just random.

Ugh, I have no idea what happened, but since yesterday my performance as been awful. I was getting around 80 average FPS on Ultra and now I'm getting 30...

Man I'm trying to like this game, but...not a fan of the one hit kills constantly and the running halfway across the map. Blowing up a vehicle in 1-2 shots with an m16? all the snipes..etc... Just...boring. It just reminds me of Battlefield without respawn so ends up being more annoying.

The bests games I have are basically not doing anything. I made it to 4th just by sitting in a car in the center of the circle the whole game.

Vehicle must have already been really damaged if it blew up in 1 to 2 shots from an M16. Takes quite a few shots to blow up a vehicle. Very few guns are also 1 hit kills especially if you have armor, unless it's a headshot.
