I agree with this. I think chasing that elusive chicken dinner is a large part of the fun and something only reasonably a handful of people can do with any regularity. Given there's only 1 winner in 100 and there's a lot of good players who will take the top 20 or so positions in the game almost every time.
I'm a fairly "average" player I'd say with a top 5% average in duo and something close to that in squad, but we chicken dinner like...well it's rare. But as a team of average players you can get close, for starters there's less teams only 25x 4 man or 50x duos, and teamwork over a mic with something like discord so you're coordinated and use flanking and things like that, it's a lot more fun. Solo is very boringm it just tends to drag on and you're more susceptible to random bad luck, the game is fairly well RNG based and squading up is one of the ways to mitigate that, on average spread across 4 you're less likely to have bad RNG on loot and mitigate bad luck by reviving each other, basically more survivability.
Cheating is massively on the rise, more so in the chinese servers thankfully, we've had a lot of games and only really 1-2 possible hackers. Deathcams are not synced well at all which hurts. Really they need steam/vac integration, but even without it, hopefully we'll see a wave of bans soon.
Separating Chinese servers can be done by locale (IP address) and the good thing about VPNs is they're easy to enumerate all the exit nodes and mass/ban taking out most of the hackers at once.
