I couldn't find any enjoyment in it as a solo experience and didn't play it for about 6 months until a friend bought it. It does have a nice hook to it. Find a place to land, hunt for loot, gear up, hunt for more loot, then proceed to kill people as the circle gets smaller. If you are interested I'd probably give Fortnite Battle Royale a try since it's free and go from there.

there's no way this game could play like Battlefield. It's way too unoptimized for it. sure, there's 100 players in the game at the beginning but they are spread out over a huge map, so not everyone is in the same area together. And then, as players die, the amount of players in the server goes down. I just don't see this as a via Battlefield type game in its current state.

Yea, the netcode and engine and whatnot you're right, I'm just using my imagination to conceive of Battlefield being played in that game world, though.

I wouldn't play this if it was BF clone. BF never lived up to what it was supposed to be. At least in this game if your squad decides to do wtfever they like, you can go about your business and still try to win and it matters not if they all die.

I'm really not hoping for a Battlefield clone, but something that has Battlefield-like aspects but better. PUBG's main game mode isn't like BF at all, I'm just imagining what BF could do with this game world size and 256 players (and some more complex mechanics and motivation to actually engage in them).

As for being able to win without your teammates, that's what deathmatch is for, and I do envision any Battlefield game having that as an available game mode for a server to run. PUBG is single elimination deathmatch though, a big difference.

I prefer playing solo in pubg. It's OK with other people but I don't like worrying about them or worrying that my carelessness will fuck up the whole game for them. Solo can be boring if your play style is to avoid fights. Once you kinda know what you're doing, it's possible get a steady amount of action without "hot dropping" into one of the 4 stupid places half the players go to every time. For me, being one of the last 5 alive in a solo match gives a level of tension I've never really gotten in other games.

Fortnite BR plays completely differently due to the building stuff alone and I don't much care for it.

Got another chicken dinner tonight. I don't think I've seen a hacker this week of the little playing I did in this game, it seems much better from 3 weeks ago.

I feel like a troll sometimes in this game when I know I'm going to die with good loot. Once I landed and picked up an 8x scope, and was being pursued by someone with a gun on the top of that mountain at the military base. I jumped off the cliff and dropped the 8x in mid air to where it would have been impossible to pickup.

I really hope they never do anything to the ump9, I think it is one of the better guns in the game, and I seem to do the best with it. Attachments seem to be everywhere as well.

And lastly, when you're looking at the death cam, and you look at your killer's minimap, it shows things like other players, I assume that's because deathcam is omniscient?

What's everyone's favorite part about the game?

The first minute on the ground as you hunt for gear/people and the last of the round when it's 10 people or less. Both situations are tense.

I don't think it's influenced by player locations, but the first circle does seem to be influenced by the plane's flight path.

Separate servers for all modes (except solo squads, which puts you alone into squads games).

Death cam and replays show everything within a fixed radius around you, something like 1km.

I was talking about the shrinking play area circle, though I am so certain the red artillery area follows players I didn't think to ask. Would be cool to know its exact mechanic though.

Pretty brave of you to leave the voice chat on. One of the first things I did was disable it along with the terrible menu music.

I have left it behind 100% for two reasons
1. Forced into the new map, miramar even at 1.0 launch. Wtf guys
2. Cheats. Spend 30 minutes to get into top10 then to get headshottet 3 times by noob1242342342342 from nowhere.
If it was 'legal' to hit up a mouse and keyboard to a console it would be worth it just to get rid of the cheaters.... but i've moved on, was fun for a while but then super stupid design decisions by bluehole...
