For one thing, I don't understand the need for 128-bit color precision, current games only use 32-bits, what the hell could they possibly need 128-bits for apart from marketing. Secondly, for all the people raving that this is much better than MS' console, well this was pretty much expected given the time difference between the two consoles. I'm more curious as to how easy/difficult it will be to code for these next-gen consoles, I think that this will ultimately determine what the performance is like on them especially given how notoriously difficult it was to code for the PS2's Emotion Engine. I'm also wondering what the deal is with the 6 threads for MS and 7 SPEs for Sony, I think it will be a pain in the ass to keep these synchronised to fully utilize the power of either console.
Either way, we'll see how it unfolds but I don't see this as being so much better than MS' console that they can get away being a behind.
